I mean i get it. Even Fortnite let’s you earn them back through the battle pass or save the world. I don’t care if we get them all back but a few hundred during an event wouldn’t hurt. Especially for kids.
My primary concern are the consequences of such steps, not exactly that it’s too difficult. It’s certainly not impossible, but if done incorrectly, it could harm the game and player base more as I feel as though if given too many credits, it gives them the perfect excuse to make the microtransactions more predatory than they are now. Be careful what you wish for is what I mean. I don’t know what 343 thinks, but even if 343 doesn’t want to prioritize profits, Microsoft itself surely does and will continue to. It won’t fair too well if they start operating and supporting the game at a massive loss over time.
No, there should absolutely be a way to earn Credits decent enough to buy things we want. Because the simple fact of the matter is there will always be the people who drop hundreds of dollars to buy out the store. Always. So there’s really no harm in providing for players who faithfully play the game, especially considering revenue from the physical game purchases, DLC, etc.
I think Halo 5 did a great job with earning points just by playing as well as paying if you wanted to. I really want to like this game but the battle pass has rubbed me the wrong way. There are already enough battle passes out there that I really enjoyed knowing I could come play Halo without things like that being thrown in my face. And not only that why is the only ranking system through the battle pass? I literally feel like I am playing for nothing at all, no rewards or progression just nothing. I would rather pay for the game out right than have it be free with battle passes and pay walls…
I find it interesting that they addressed the battlepass progression system as soon as possible but haven’t talked about the issues with their shop, even if I’ve seen it mentioned in a lot of threads already. They are actively avoiding the topic, I wonder why
There is nothing wrong with exclusive skins, no one has to buy in, it doesn’t help with the way people play so if someone wants to drop money for cosmetics and you don’t then that’s on you man, this is a free to play model so they got to bring in money some way
There is everything wrong with the idea that I can’t work on getting all the armors like any other game. For halo I’ve always been a completionist, and I know I’m not the only one. And I don’t believe that the fact that I want to collect every piece of armor in the game by grinding would be a big issue to those who want to pay for them. Commitment should be rewarded in live service games.
Stress on their server? You make it sound like people playing their game is having a negative effect on the game, don’t they need a player base for everything to function. I can tell you that if only the people that bought the zvezda by bundle were left playing, the servers would be a lot more empty. And to address your other point, yes I know they do need money, but me for example, I just bought the battlepass, and whether they keep the shop behind a pay wall or not I can tell you for sure that I won’t put money into the shop, and again I don’t think I’m the only one thinking like that. But if they make the credits grindable and put more reasonable prices, I probably will, I a way of thanking them for listening to feedback from their community.
Sorry for the long post.
Normally I’d agree, but Halo is different when it comes to cosmetics, without cosmetics community made things like Arby N’ the Chief and Red vs Blue wouldn’t have been anywhere near as popular as they got. Cosmetics play a bigger part in Halo than just cosmetics, it’s deeper than that, to the point where you are basically redesigning yourself in a different universe’s image.

Then you shouldn’t be afraid to throw money into to get the look you want, as I said nothing wrong with having cosmetics that you can only buy
Yes there is, it violates the exact integrity Halo has made specifically for Halo since 2007. Microtransactions have ZERO place in Halo, this isn’t an opinion or debate, it’s a fact, one that is proven simply by MCC’s existence. MCC has a battlepass system, a challenge system, and ZERO microtransactions and fans effing LOVE it!
I’ve seen this subject come up a lot, and someone mentioned one thing or another that led me to an idea:
What if the campaign had campaign exclusive challenges that rewarded credits? That would make it so there is still a payment barrier to get credits in the form of purchasing the campaign so totally free players can’t just skip around supporting the devs in any way, and also provide a way for people who bought into the game to play it as if they had…you know…bought it.
I’ve always been toying with the idea of having something included with your campaign purchase besides the armors you unlock exclusively from it. Previously I thought including the first season’s pass with it was the way to go, but now I’m thinking credits challenges are better and will continue to be a benefit in future seasons.
That’s a first time for halo, so for halo fans their is everything wrong with that.
I’ve brought this idea in a thread, but I’m sure I’m not the only one, seems like a no brainer and because of that I’m pretty sure 343 won’t do it
So @Postums, how much more traction and coverage does a topic need to get to be addressed, still no word anywhere about shop and mtx issues. The number of threads and feedback keeps growing.
Honestly I’m against this idea. Players shouldn’t be FORCED to support the devs for a premium currency the devs themselves promised us WOULD NOT EXIST in Halo Infinite. The store with direct purchases, that’s one thing and I’d be willing to support it so long as it’s not TOO greedy, but even without credits there should not be any armor sets or coatings outside of Esport teams in the shop.
Remove seperate levels for each shoulder/glove/leg piece and instead give small amount of credits, just enough that maybe when you complete the battle pass you can get something.
Please let RNG stay away from Halo Infinite.
This speaks facts, anyone else who disagrees with this post is HERETIC!!!
