343 make their own polls for the community to decide fate on reach

just a thought why doesn’t 343 put a message on reach when you pop in your disk telling you that your vote counts, sighn in to 343 and go vote on a pole **(THAT 343 MAKES)**on what you want to see change in matchmaking they are after all trying to keep us happy. wouldnt that just be so much eiser then mounths of research trying to find out what everyone likes which I would imagine would be increadibly hard given all the variables and the diversity of gamers.

just me thinking aloud

I don’t care, I love his GT. Reminds me of Scotty doesn’t know.

thanks lol had it for the last 8 years lol never chang it will I!

finally they made a poll!

That would be cool, maybe poll of the month at the title screen with results at the beginning of the month. In a way it happens when people choose the playlist they like, I like to check the numbers on playlist occasionally when I play, just out of intrest.

They already have tons of information coming in already. A poll is unnecessary.

That actually sounds like a pretty good idea! I would definitely vote.

My vote is 100% for sure for ZB for the entire Reach game including FF/Campaign.

Most of the people that still put the reach disc in their xbox like the default settings. That poll would not be accurate. Most of people that hate the reach settings don’t get online.

well we will never know unless they do it.

Because the majority of players are 12 and don’t understand simple cause and effect of matchmaking changes.

Informed minority > Ignorant majority

There’s a reason people aren’t forced to make a choice in political elections.
“Well this guy’s name is the same as my uncle so I’ll pick him.”

this wouldnt work at all.

most of our halo community either:

1.) has no idea whats going on in the first place
2.) couldnt tell you why things are better or worse
3.) would troll the poll because they dont care either way

its about as logical as if NASA opened up a poll to the public on which satellite design to use.

I’m gonna have to disagree with that, it is not the same thing. 343i have yet to put anything out there, CEA is a remake and the TU was a no-brainer, so it’s too early to judge them. However, when looking at Reach, developed by Bungie, who is supposedly the expert at the games, would it illogical for them to listen to the community because the players wouldn’t know what is best for the game? Yet Bungie develops a really bad matchmaking experience with a horrible ranking system and game mechanics that would have thousands of players to quit.

However, that’s now saying that a poll is the best way to go, because I do agree that most people don’t seem to understand what is better or worse, as you say, or clearly Sword Base would not get chosen EVERY time it’s up for voting, so a poll may not be the best way to go about. What I’m trying to say is that the game developers don’t always know what is the best for their game, and sometimes it’s the community that possess that knowledge making it foolish not to listen to what the players has to say.

Just a question.

Doesn’t MM voting and gameplay data provide more accurate relevant information than a subjective poll?

I like the polling idea. Maybe a “community poll of the week” in the Forums.

I like the poll idea, but it could use some alterations. Instead of having something like, “What do you like about Reach” or “Do you want this, that, or neither”, it should be broad questions focused on change. Given the nature of this message board, it’s going to be filled with people who desire change in the game, be it a simple bug fix or an overhaul of the present state of gameplay. It’s true that a lot of people who are actually playing Reach don’t play it enough to know (or care) about the issues that cause argument and discussion within this community. Thus, a change-centered poll is the best bet, and here are some examples touching on key issues:

“No Bloom, Decreased Bloom, or Increased Bloom?”
“A.A.s on Spawn, A.A.s on Map, or No A.A.s?”
“Arena, TrueSkill, or something new?”
