343 Loves Team Betraying

Apparently 343 loves teammates who kill another teammate for a power weapon. Indeed, they seem to endorse it.

After this lovely fellow betrayed me for a DMR, I wasn’t given the option to boot him. Why is this? I understand that a zero tolerance policy would result in a lot of people being booted, but the fact that he could so easily get away with it without any consequences is just frustrating. I understand an accidental team kill, but this was obviously not that.

So what did I do? I shot him of course, followed him around like a crazy person, keeping his shields down. In return he killed me twice (without recourse from the game), and then once I killed him and got booted. Betrayal detection in this game is atrocious. I’m not a programmer, but surely there has to be a better system to weed out children who teamkill for a bloody power weapon.

A rocket launcher, I could understand but - a -Yoinking!- DMR?

Thanks 343

Actually, 343 had friendly fire turned off in their first Halo game. We all yelled at them, so they turned it back on for Halo 5. Now they just need to fix the boot system.

So really, they don’t like it. Maybe they’re just giving us what-for since we yelled at them. But they need to fix the boot system. I think friendly fire needs to be there so we consider our actions and don’t just fire rockets at enemies when our mates are near by, but we also can’t have selfish trolls betraying us for those rockets either. So fix that boot system 343!!!

A player has to betray someone twice before there’s an option to kick them.

If someone betrays me for a power weapon I’ll betray them back and then spend the rest of the game bringing down their shields.

I’m almost certain that there will never be a perfect fix for betraying. Some people like FF others don’t; so I don’t envy the decisions they have to make. I just think that there should be stricter consequences for team killing.

Such as, if you splatter someone, or blow them up with a grenade/rocket/cannon you should be given a second chance (as these are almost always accidental). However one team kill with a melee, or non power weapon should result in either an instant boot, or a sharp consequence like their weapon damage is reduced by half because those are rarely a -Yoinking!- accident.

So what’s stopping me from purposely splattering someone with my ghost.

the Boot system shouldn’t be the only way to stop this because that doesn’t make up for the first betrayal if he doesn’t get booted for the whole game. what would stop or diminish all the betraying is this as a solution.

Classic Halo man.

He told second chance dude. Not infinite

I have never had to get betrayed more than twice for the option to boot.
Also, never betray in retaliation.

I just got booted from Warzone for no apparent reason. Solo captured the enemy base, killed a couple of the enemy without dying. Rail gun a no no?

Not allowing you to boot after one betrayal = endorsing betrayal? That’s a leap of logic if I ever heard one…

there are plenty of unintentional betrayals in halo. That’s why the system requires two…

if you can come up with a system that can determine a players intent, I’m sure there are plenty of tech companies that would hire you right now!

Pretty sure they don’t endorse it… If they did, warzone would have friendly fire and everyone would be betraying other people for their power weapons. It’s the player who makes that decision right?

because 2 wrongs make a right and that helps the team overall…

Friendly fire is vital to the Halo experience
. Team killers get themselves banned, just be patient.

It’s called hyperbole, but I’m sure nuance isn’t your thing with the gamer tag ‘trueplayforreal’
I’m not talking about determining intent, I’m talking about harsher penalties for players who either melee or use a non-power weapon to kill another teammate because that’s rarely accidental. An argument could be made that I’m too sensitive and that betraying is a part of the Halo experience, which fine maybe I am and maybe it is, but if the majority is unhappy with the current system, shouldn’t we espouse our opinions?

Just a thought…if you betray someone, you lose the option to change weapons for 10 seconds or more. That will stop people from killing teammates for weapons.

HAHAHA that awful excuse again. NO. never has and never will be vital to Halo. and im not willing to wait for some Looser to possibly get banned when he should be punished on the spot. and i guess you arnt aware that there are ways of betraying without getting caught and booted. the entire system needs a rework. eaither FF needs to be turned off. or they go with my suggestion where you loose exp and Req points if you deal Damage and team-kill your Teammates. that’s sounds like a good punishment. you want to be a jerk to others?. here ill be a jerk to you and take away some of your rewards.

OP whines about team killing, then admits to team killing and getting booted for it. You deserve the boot, the system works.

Sums it up.
