alright so im making this thread cause i seen some posts that hating on players that want a visible skill implemented in this game…
i just feel like for some reason 343 listens to minority more than the majority because they share the same views… 343 please understand that people saying visible skill rank is pointless and yahta yahta are in the minority.
the majority of players i’ve played with all want visible ranks, in game, not on waypoint…
people that dont care for visible ranks dont have to play the playlist that has it… but it should still be in the game…
i just think its beyond ignorant to say visible skill ranks have no place in this game because you dont want them… this world isnt about you, princess
Not about you, either. Most of the people I know don’t care about a visible skill rank, and the few that do are just very vocal and whiny about it not being there.
> i just feel like for some reason 343 listens to minority more than the majority because they share the same views… 343 please understand that people saying visible skill rank is pointless and yahta yahta are in the minority.
You’ve talked to at least 4 million players? Wow that’s a lot nice work there.
> i just think its beyond ignorant to say visible skill ranks have no place in this game because you dont want them… this world isnt about you, princess
While I would like to see visable skill ranks as well your words are for you as well. The world isn’t about you and making a thread thinking you know what majority of the population (4 million people) want and a condescending topic title do not make it true.
can i get some mature responses instead of just telling me the same thing applies to me? i never said it didnt… all i said was from my experiences i am in the majority, and i play with alot of people
not 4 million people but 4 million people dont play halo 4 now do they?
the bottome line is there is no excuse to leave skill ranks out… you leave visible ranks out and you piss off the people that want it… what do you possibly have to lose by putting them in? the only thing that could happen is you would make a bunch of people happy… and for the people that dont care about it… well, they dont care about it so i think that speaks for itself…
So you’re only a real fan if you’re:
A: In the majority
B: Can’t enjoy Halo without visible ranks?
Please OP, don’t make me burst out in laughter here.
Guess what? the REAL Halo fan doesn’t exsist. I’ve been on board since day 1, read the books and have the collectors crap of every Halo game. But that still doesn’t make me more of a “real” Halo fan than the next guy who only plays CTF all day every day and cares less for anything else.
Oh, and just saying; but if you do insist on making visible ranks such an important part of being a “real” Halo fan, I suppose those “real” fans didn’t start with CE then did they?
The minority is us competitive players. The thing is we are basically the community’s heart. And i agree to keep halo’s heart healthy would be some love shown to the competitive crowd. Thing is 343i couldn’t be more distant from us and prefers to cut us out thinking that somehow the body will survive with a big gaping hole where it’s heart once was. Not going to happen.
Instead what they’ve been doing is catering to the body’s external needs and ignoring what keeps that body going. Fiesta is fun but a ranked slayer playlist is what brings ppl back for more.
I say we’re the heart because it’s us who have been sticking around for the longest. Not to say that there aren’t casuals who’ve been here with us since the get go but when if comes to who us old crowd are its mostly us competitive players.
I’d like to know what exactly you say are real fans though. Is is just the people who care about the MP? Campaign? Driving a warthog and doing tricks? If so what are the RVB guys?
all i know is I want visible ranks back but i cant speak for the majority or the minority only me and the friends i have talked to, and i dont know what u classify as a “real halo fan” but thats your opinion and other people have their’s. that dosent make u or me a “real halo fan”.

real fans - people who have been playing since the beginning… i been playin since 02 with CE… all these new kids that came around in reach think they know what halo was

dont care, and dont want. are different. Dear god, i cant imagine you being older then 13.
You want visible rank, well. Sir you may want to take up that argument with people who level XBL accounts on halo 2 and 3 just to sell them.

If I get you right… you want ranks like Onyx, Bronze, Silver and such back from Reach? At least, such a system that you only get it when you play those specific lists… Don’t have to be ranked in such a way…
Do you have any stats that back up your claim that the majority wants a visible ranking system? Didn’t think so. I for one could care less if there was a ranking system, not opposed to it but don’t care if it is there or not as I don’t get hung up on things like that. Does that make me any less a Halo fan than any one else or disqualify me from being a REAL Halo fan? Once again, NO!
What we have is a very vocal part of the community asking for this, whether it is a majority or a minority of the whole is up for debate. But based on MY experience, the vocal community on forums does NOT equal the opinion of the entire community and rarely is the majority. And forum polls are irrelevant as we forum dwellers are a small subset of the entire community that mostly consists of the die-hard fans, trolls, and people who like to do nothing but complain or post negatively about an item or product. People who are happy with a product (except for the die-hards as noted earlier) are typically busy enjoying their product and not posting on forums.
So save the condescending attitude and your opinion being stated as fact for another time.
Noooooo
Terms like this are a one-way ticket to NotGonnaGetYourPointAcrossLand.
While yes, the “silent majority” is usually not a reliable source of feedback, the loudest folks are usually NOT the “true majority” or the “real fans”.
There just happens to be a higher ratio of fans to other folks in the loud groups. If they were to offer polls on the in-game menus, then we could get a slightly better idea of what the “majority” thinks.
