As the title says, please give us an option to do ‘Tenrai event’ challenges outside of ‘Fiesta mode.’ Generally the matches are pure chaos and are not optimal for challenge progression. Most matches end up with people running around with ‘Energy Swords’, ‘Gravity Hammers’, and ‘Rockets.’ There are really a lot of us who dislike playing ‘Fiesta mode’ (it is my least favorite game mode), but want to complete the ‘Tenrai challenges’ and earn the armor.

I absolutely agree here! I thought part of the Event Pass redesign was also to make it more quality of life overall, like how the Winter Contingency let you do a challenge a day to unlock things.
But nope. Now there’s more content locked behind a single game mode that people like myself don’t enjoy. I swear every match the enemy team all spawn with snipers and rocket launchers while the game laughs at me for committing to play this RNG mode for the sake of progressing the Event Pass.

Tons of ‘Energy Swords’ spawn in, the game mode itself is total madness. Playing it feels more like a custom game, and that is why I think it isn’t a good fit for challenges.

I just wish they would take out the abilities we get and have it just weapons only.
I don’t mind it. It’s not my favourite mode but I do like to have 3/4 games now and again.

I am unclear how this works; i can only level up with the one playlist? So only challenges that are drip fed to me count?

For the event yes, but if you do other challenges they will count whilst playing fiesta.

This will probably be a case of “It only in Fiesta because that’s how we wanted it to play out. It is our game after all to choose how we want it to work”. Thus, bringing up the “Well, I hate to break it to you, but this event just isn’t for you then”.
This is clearly a fiesta event. I expect if they ever have a Halloween event it will be set around infection. Another event might be slayer bases etc etc etc.

A very crazy and chaotic thing. To take it as a joke. It’s been a part of Halo for a long time and there are people who love it. It’s fine as it is, just enjoy it.
It does seem like the random weapon spawning seems to always benefit the other team. I swear if I spawn with a plasma carbine one more time…hate that weapon
It’s definitely a weapon that takes some getting used to, I’m still not very good at using it. I’ve started utilizing the pulse carbine as a means to set up melee attacks, the same as I do with a shotgun. If I land the first burst from the carbine, I can usually end my opponent with a well placed melee attack.
I think the whole challenge system needs to be reworked. Events could just be double xp for the event mode? Every other game modes people actually want to play should still be able to get tenrai rewards. Idk 343 designed the event to be not that incentive and very restrictive. . .

Conjoining challenges/events to specific game modes is idiotic. People have preferences as to which modes they like to play, and forcing players to go outside those preferences for a low stakes non-competitive prize just seems completely arbitrary. If you could complete Tenrai challenges in any PVP playlist, reception and player count would undoubtedly improve.

I’ve now completed all of my ‘Fiesta’ challenges for now (thank goodness). My least favorite was get ‘10 headshots.’ I had a ‘curious’ problem where I crashed three matches in a row ‘mid-game’ when needing 6 ‘Fiesta’ matches for completion. I don’t know what it is about ‘Fiesta’ mode, but it seems to crash straight to desktop the most out of any game mode that I play (on ‘PC’). All of my drivers are ‘up-to-date’, files verified, ect. I saw someone on the front page of ‘Reddit’ mentioning possible sizable memory leaks with the game, potentially that is what I experienced.
Now that several days have passed, what does everyone think of the ‘Tenrai: Fracture?’ Personally, I loathe having to playing ‘Fiesta’ every time this event rolls around (I missed out on the first one). What makes it less appealing for me overall is that the event will show up a grand total of six times, and we’re at 2/6 at the moment. I really hope ‘343’ rethinks ‘Fiesta’ and lets us do the challenges in other game modes as well.

I got to rank 5 and gave up. I have just accepted that I will not be getting most of the event cosmetics. I will probably gut it out for Scorpion Punch, but Cyber Showdown and Tenrai are not worth it. I would play a ton of Bot Bootcamp or Firefight if those ever became an option.
