343, Leave Living Dead alone!!!

It was the most popular playlist for a reason… it was fun.

People like the idea of being able to get a good spot as a human and racking up a few kills, maybe even a Hell’s Janitor or Hell’s Jerome if they’re lucky. Sure, it’s frustrating if you’re a zombie, but you just roll with it because you know you’ll get your turn as a human in the next round.

I’ve regularly seen the population of this playlist eclipsing even Team slayer in popularity.

However, these new maps you’ve added are not fun to play on.

They are already being ignored in the lobby and people are voting for the regular maps again (after only a day!).

I’m seeing entire rounds where the top score is only 3 or 4 points! It’s swung too far in favor of the zombies and killed the fun element.

By pandering to the people who want it to be more balanced and giving the zombies more of a chance you will end up killing off this popular playlist.

Please at least promise you won’t remove the regular maps from the line up. I’ve seen people on here calling for them to be removed entirely in favor of community created ones. I don’t think that would be a very good idea at all.

All I can says is check the data in your voting results - the statistics don’t lie.

You’ll see if the majority of players out there really like them or not by if they’re getting voted for often enough.

This is solid proof that people play Living Dead for how easy it is to get kills, not for fun.

I like it swung twoards the zombies because thats how it’s supposed to be in the first place like in Halo 3 when it was fun. When Reach came out it was NOT fun because of all the campers. I am really glad 343 fianlly added custom maps.

With all due respect, OP, you haven’t shown that the majority of people in Living Dead are in it for fun. There could be, and are, countless other reasons: credit farming; stat-padding; griefing; among others.

Now, whatever the reasons are, you are right that the population will almost certainly drop if any further meaningful improvements to the playlist (namely, removing the broken maps) are made. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. Most of the people who would leave the playlist are those who play it because they have something to gain from making other players miserable: credits, a high K/D, sadistic amusement, what have you. These people are not worth appealing to, simply because to appeal to them, you must allow them to screw over players who have done nothing wrong. Ergo, their loss – and the population drop that it would cause – is acceptable.

I wish they had added original maps over reworked maps. I haven’t had much time to play them as yet, however Jr and I went thru them this weekend… I do see the maps as a step in the right direction. However, it may have been too big of a step. We shall see.

Tisk tisk tisk, I find the maps to be a breath of fresh air and have seen only one time where a new map was not voted in.

The old maps are there and those that wish to play the same map they have been playing for over a year(who are these people?)can still do so.

It is apparent though that the new maps seperate those with situational awareness and those that can memorize good killing lanes. Also as a side note, I have started to see “spots” start to develop and it will be interesting to watch these develop over the next couple weeks.

I haven’t hit Living Dead fully since the update, gotta hit it up some time tomorrow, I did play part of a game, was Sword Base default which I quit out of.

Was rather sad to see people choose it.

I love how you said the Zombie killing sprees are based on luck.
and that you said you’ll spawn as the zombie in one of the following rounds. Despite the fact that it is completely random, at least 4 players stay as humans for all 3 rounds, and it is possible to spawn as the zombie for all 3 rounds (which is one the worst things we have no control over).

The maps are strait up game changers, Spooky base, Powerless, Parasitic, Uncongelealed are standouts for me, but all of them have been a pleasure to play on. I have not got a chance to play any of the DLC ones yet, but look forward to it.

I totally agree with you man this update changed living dead so that there is no way to get kills over 5

No, just no infection started as a community based, fun to play game mode, now its a K/d boosting and a refuge for those who can’t play regular reach.

O RLY?

> I totally agree with you man this update changed living dead so that there is no way to get kills over 5

Agree with whom?

I managed a game or two earlier… SB was VERY fun… I love having to rethink my strategy. I ended up sprinting for the man cannon, hanging around in there for a bit, then stayed on the move. 2 last man standings which never happens to me.

Uncongealed was… a pain… I need to get used to the broken walkway as I had multiple suicides…

The new Boardwalk was boring…

need to play more to get a better feel…

all i want to say is that infection is fun if you are a human and its not if you are zombie and by these maps getting ruined it makes it harder for you to survive as a human. yeah and onyx tech, 15 kills, that isnt even close to the amount of kills i could get before the update.

Well I’m sorry you can’t camp and isn’t Infection supposed to be survival, not some one sided kill fest.

> need to play more to get a better feel…

Magical words. More people in the forum need to think like this.

> I totally agree with you man this update changed living dead so that there is no way to get kills over 5

You just need some more time on the maps and you will exceed five kills.

yea, just move and be aware of your surroundings is all it takes to succeed.

plunder, i noticed you been playing on my map parasitic yet you haven’t said anything, or any other infection map, i honestly i expected you to come on here and start giving your 2 cents …
