343 Layoffs WOW

I mean I’m sure 343 would’ve been happy to hire more people had Microsoft lifted the hiring freeze but that’s just me.

i agree, Microsoft is trying to save money and us that saved money to buy Activision and Blizzard even at the cost of losing halo fans. Its like they dont care the franchise that helped them take off is going down hill, instead of helping it they are destroying it

Hey that’s Heytred’s tweet.

yeah i hit reply to fast without posting his tweeet, i was trying to quote him and say i agree with what he is saying and how i feel

Again Microsoft arent the only ones screwing up with infinite

343 are the ones who decided a one flag ctf mode would be a great idea to promote instead of something like infection or grifball

343 are the ones who thought it would be ok to release the game without a slayer playlist

I blame ms for the armor core system and coatings

I blame ms for the lackluster launch and slow content updates due to not giving 343 enough employees to offset the bleeding

We prob will never get campaign DLC or if we do it will be year 8-9 since a lot of ca department people were laid off today. Hey they did say Infinite is a 10 year game lmao

I was more of talking about the layoffs. I already know how bad a state Infinite is in. I was just playing it 5 min ago.

My longer comment was in response to rich’s comment that implied Microsoft is the only one at fault for destroying the franchise

Which is false theres a reason why a majority of the gaming sphere consider 343 to be a bad developer

For every good they do they proceed to do 20 other things to anger players and fans

Oh. Okay👍

Doesn’t Microsoft still do that stupid 18 month rotation thing where they just don’t renew contracts unless something new comes up and the person reapplies?

Could just be what’s happening but who knows anymore?

It wouldn’t surprise me if ms has started allowing people to reapply and its just people not willing to reapply

Like out of all of ms’s studios 343 is the only one publicly known having staffing issues

Like its super fishy and paints the picture that ms isn’t the only one to blame

Microsoft’s management of the Halo franchise since Bungie left has been a compete shambles. Firstly the direction that the franchise went in under 343 with Halo 4 and 5 was all wrong. Then infinite actually had potential to set things back on the right track and that’s all been handled horribly too.

I’ve tried to support 343 and Microsoft as best as I can but at this point enough is enough. Halo was bungies game and Microsoft hasn’t been able to manage the franchise effectively since Bungie left and these lay offs just as infinite was starting to turn a corner just put the nail in the coffin.

Agree with everything but the turning the corner bit

Every time halo infinite seems to be picking up steam 343 decides to do something to anger a lot of people

looks at the recent ban fiasco

Well that sucks.

Hopefully whatever that Tatanka mode is isn’t cut.

Its the economy right now. All tech companies are laying people off to cut costs right now. Its been clear for awhile MS doesnt care about 343 studios. Probably because Halo generates so little money compared to their other ventures like the cloud servers and Game Pass.

On top of that 343 has shown a lack of competency so its understandable that MS as a business with shareholders in mind cant afford to keep giving them second chances by injecting resources

Sounds more like they’re just gutting campaign support even further.

Probably cause selling some armor bundles is much more cost effective than making a good campaign.

Several of my friends were part of the layoffs. Sounds like 343 got hit hard. Bad news for Halo. The team was already short handed.

I doubt that mode is affected as iirc 343 weren’t the ones working on it

Its amazing how long they’ve gotten away with “We’ve fixed the issues we created!” as a selling point.

I would be so down for CA to take over halo
