343 Layoffs WOW

Wow I have seen over 10 343 employees say they were laid off on twitter, this is going to suck for us moving forward and of course them as well but man I bet you they delay content now being so short handed once the final numbers come out

That or they got them to crunch out all the future content they plan to release this year and just let them go now that the content is ready to go.

I would imagine that content would be of dubious quality then

That sucks, hope those impacted land on their feet soon.

I feel for those folks, losing a job sucks

I wonder if they were integral parts of the team responsible for pushing out content in this game.

Joe Staten, who joined 343 in 2020 to steer Halo Infinite toward the finish line, is leaving the studio to rejoin Xbox Publishing

Some peeps have said the heaviest hit were the campaign devs.

Wow Jason Schrier tweeted “Microsoft won’t share specific numbers, but several employees have told me that 343 Industries was hit hard. This comes in the wake of a long-running hiring freeze and a lot of contractor departures” Link to the whole thread here https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/1615805671370330125?s=20&t=IM6YhHf8xf4yucprtvTIqw

Actually, MS is the reason the layoffs are taking place.

You are right about that, i saw that they made a lot of money last year so i wonder why they are laying off people. CEO Satya Nadella made $54.95 million in total compensation last year and he gave himself a raise. I think its becasue they are getting ready to purchase Activision Blizzard for $69 billion

So wait? Lemme get this straight:

The game developer, which has famously had an issue with staffing, is now firing employees?

sigh I’m not a business manager or anything, but I’m just gonna shoot a blank here and say that if you have a staffing problem, your focus should be on hiring more people, not firing those who are already there. Once again, I know nothing about business or anything like that so this could be wrong, just my two cents.

343 and Microsoft are both at fault

And at this point 343 has lost all the good will from me so I’m going to be more harsh towards them

As a Halo fan I’m really tired of Microsoft business practices & policies slowly killing the thing I love

between the contracting policies they abuse for tax incentives & layoffs in the face of gigantic profits/executive bonuses… they set Halo up for failure

Tweet from Tyler Owens which i agree with https://twitter.com/heytred/status/1615817510716313600?s=20&t=PFKiDpBFvCKNAlL7amnvqw
