On the map Skyline, players will notice a background that looks like a big city. For the longest time I always thought it look very familiar but could never place it until I saw this image on the file share.
It turns out it’s just a picture of Paris, France that 343 used as their back drop, the link above shows an in game shot. The link below will show the actual image
The reason it looks for familiar is because it’s been my desktop background for months. They just flipped the actual image and cut out the Eiffel Tower, then used in there bad game. If you look you can see the Capital building (The building in front of the Eiffel Tower is in both images but the tower is not)
> It’s very minor, and it sped up the development of the map so they didn’t have to delay the map pack.
I don’t see how it’s minor, just look at match making 343I didn’t make any of it. Halo 4’s match making is made by certain affinity. To be honest I have absolutely no idea what 343I has actually made themselves in Halo 4. How I see it is, 343I hires other companies to do the work then they put their name on it.I would love to know what 343I actually made in Halo 4, and please correct me if I’m wrong.
> Well it is a human themed map so there’s a possibility it is located on earth and in paris.
The in game description of the map skyline is quote:
.
“High above the city of Mindoro, a tether build site provides remarkable terrain for infantry warfare.”
.
Last I check Mindoro was not Paris.

It’s Halo. It doesn’t look realistic. They made no mention of the map Skyline being set in Paris and why would they remove the Eiffel Tower and flip the image if they were trying to be realistic?
If the image is in the public domain and has fair use licensing then they’ve done nothing wrong. It’s not uncommon for developers to modify photos of real locations to use as background scenery.

Actually, the map takes place in a colony world called cascade. I wouldn’t think it’s realistic if they cropped a modern night-time cityscape picture to a futuristic city that doesn’t even take place on earth.
> I thought Certain Affinity made their Majestic map pack…maybe 343i was unaware of it?
I was under the impression that all normal maps in the game, Crimson and Majestic map packs were made by 343, while Forge, Forge maps and Castle Map Pack were done by Certain Affinity.

> Haha wow that does look pretty similar. If it isn’t stolen that’s a pretty big coincidence.
It’s the exact same image. The exact same windows are shining at the exact same luminosity, not to mention every single car. They just added a bunch of blue lights.
I don’t really care, I’m just saying. The skybox is beautiful regardless.

> Everything MP was CA
I just looked it up. All MP maps other than Forge environments and Castle were done as collaborations between 343 and CA (343 had a team working closely with CA). The Forge mode was handled by CA, while the War Games mode (gameplay, UI etc) was handled by 343.
