343 isn't stopping you from getting kills...

… in objective that is. You can still get kills they just want to reward people more that are actually trying to go for the objective. They are showing the stats that matter the most. If you still want to get tons of kills in objective and play support you can. The main role of CTF is to do everything you can to capture flags and make sure the other team doesn’t do it. If you want to go for the flag you don’t have to worry about having a destroyed K/D because of it. If you want to kill nearly defenseless enemies you still can but you just can’t build your K/D on these practices. It promotes genuine objective gameplay and will have more people actually focusing on the object. As a person that thoroughly enjoys objective this is music to my ears. If you’re the type of people that wants to just go for kills and have a K/D play the gametype designed for it. It will help every part of the game dramatically.

Team Slayer people will have the more competitive environment, objective players will have a nice competitive environments. Everyone wins except people that would rather grief and boost K/D. It blows my mind that people would even come out and complain that 343 would take away their ability to display cowardly acts. I’m not saying that support players are cowards… You can still do what you do. You’re just not going to get a K/D for it as it’s not the main objective in the game and K/D should be shown in gametypes that the goal is to get more kills and less deaths.

TL;DR K/D in objective games are beyond pointless. 343 is trying to bring a more competitive environment across all playlists. We now don’t have to worry about K/D while trying to continually push for the objective.

I agree. If only the OP for this thread (https://forums.halo.xbox.com/yaf_postst111979p3_There-is-nothing-wrong-with-CTF-Kill-Farming.aspx) could see this way.

Edit: Sorry for the link in perenthesis, I’m still learning how to make links, and have yet to master simplifying the link into a word like the more experianced posters. So, you could say that when it comes to making links, I’m a noob.

I’m glad you agree.

As for the link thing it’s like this…

url=link here]name for your link goes here[/url

that starts with a [ and ends with a ]

I can’t actually add the [ to the beginning and the ] to the end to explain it to you as it turns it into a link like this.

Thanks for the link help. I’ll try and remember that next time.

There is actually a special icon for links.

The one that has an earth and a chain-link on it. Type the link in the box, and name it. It seasier that way, I think.

I know that, it’s just making links into words that I don’t understand. However, ||SHABUTIE|| has sent me a personal message showing me how to do this, so all is good.

Couldn’t have said it better than this  agreed!

I fail to see how the OP addresses how statpadding is going to be reduced in Halo 4.

Personnaly, I agree whole heartedly and after giviing it serious thought I like the changes 343 has added to CTF, my only gripe is that you get a magnum no matter what weapons you actually have. I would preffer that you get whatever side arm you currently have on you as your flag weapon and just hold the flag two handed if you have no sidearm. I think that would add more purpose to sidearms in CTF instead of just a through-away weapon. Maybe you could have the opption to drop the flag if you have no sidearm as well, so your not totally helpless.

In halo reach, I often find my self worrying how much my K/D ratio is going to go down when playing objective games. I’m the sort of player that usually will go for the objective and will try to win, but when I pick up the objective and look around for support only to see my team mates fighting over a rocket launcher, or spawn killing I just say “stuff the objective” and try and turn my K/D at least in to a positive. I’m so happy that K/D will not be counted halo 4 objective games, I can’t wait to play an objective game where my team mates actually make the objective their objective and I don’t have to worry about a -30 K/D spread.

P.S I like most of the changes 343i are making to CTF (and everything else), but I don’t like magic pistol and I have mixed fillings on no flag dropping. I’ll see how it feels in November.

343i is working on buffing the flagnum so that it is stronger for the flag user than the version that you carry and spawn with in your loadout.

We were talking about objective?

I feel like they should take out k/d in objectives, but still track an overall k/d in Wargames in Halo 4. k/d has been in everything, removing it and you remove a target audience.

R u srs? -_-

343 is taking away the ability of having a K/D in CTF and objective games. K/D is for Slayer and Slayer alike gametypes only. That will cause more people to play for the objective and less people to play for just kills. Those that do play specifically for kills won’t be stat padding at all considering… the kills don’t count toward stats. K/D is the big reason why people farm kills in ctf. It’ll balance everything out and anyone that cares about CTF will play CTF and the people that care about Slayer will play that and so on and so forth.

I agree. I play the objective in those gametypes and it’s beyond irritating to have those players that just camp power weapons and worry about thier stats.

> I agree. I play the objective in those gametypes and it’s beyond irritating to have those players that just camp power weapons and worry about thier stats.

And here I was thinking that I was the only one with this problem. I was under the impression that everyone else in the world aside from me just played objective to farm kills. haha It is nice to see others actually playing the objective.
