The Slipspace engine is what will be used thoughout the next halo games. Right now it sucks everyone needs to be patiant for when they fix it enough to add real content.
Games going to die by then.
Where is it stated that they will continue to use this broken Slipspace engine for forthcoming titles?
Patience unfortunately, for 343 is not a virtue of the so called “gaming” community.
Clever sayings such as “time will only tell” may ring true. However for 343 it is not the most comforting.
As you know, in order to have patience it comes at the cost of time as do a lot of things. A conundrum most would prefer not to be in. Yet, 343 finds themselves in that.
Perhaps we not ask the benevolent “gaming” community for patience. Rather we wish 343 the best in their pursuit to achieve their goals.
Halo Infinite “feels” like Halo.
You often hear game designers talk about how the feel of the game is baked into the engine.
So I guess, despite any limitations on Slipspace, it’s important for that part.
I think the next big step is how it integrates with Forge. I’m sure there are things that are far better implemented when developed alongside the actual game engine.
And graphics wise. The older consoles are on their last legs. I’m sure they will up the ante graphically as the scope of hardware the game needs to run on narrows.
The engine is fine. It’s the development cycle and communication between the fans, devs, and upper management that’s broken.
I really do struggle to see where Halo goes from here after the problems with MCC, Halo 5 and now Infinite. Something just has to change. Halo won’t survive another poor game release. It just can’t.
Sadly, I think you’re right. I just got back on after being away from the for a month. And the game still sucks. Sure, it seems 343i has tweaked a few things here and there. But the still missing the one and most important thing…, it’s just not fun!
I’ve given up and Uninstalled Halo Infinite on Xbox.
Too little - too late. None of my friends even care anymore if it exists.
Why at you’re making a new engine to fix the old engine problems and then make that new engine be worse than the old? Sorry 343 and it’s employees don’t get no sympathy from me they did this to themselves.
The one thing i enjoyed about halo 5s multiplayer was warzone.
It was a unique game tyoe that i fear we will never seen again.
Halo 4 had spartan ops which started out as reused maps, how ever 343I listened ( I know right)
Halo reach/halo 3 odst l. Obviously fire fight was jist good fun.
my worst fear is that MS is going to put Slipspace into everything like EA did with frostbite and completely tank other games
Good decision. I already uninstalled the game for good last January and started playing better games.
Man, the Slipspace Engine really is a scam, just like Halo Finite itself.
so what you’re saying is that… 343 has made source engine spagetti 2.0? but somehow worse than said early 2000s engine. gotta love modern gaming, excuses of excuses, if only 343 was competent enough to make a good game engine…
or, or, better idea… they shouldn’t have even bothered given what the original halo engine can do. i mean… need i remind others that the engine can:
give players super spartan abilities (h5)
spartan equipable abilites (reach and 4)
have spartan equipment (3)
duel weilding (2 and 3)
and a grappling hook? (whiles not official, a mod for CE was made involving a grappling hook)
have forge, campaign, mp with tons of playlists, progression system, firefight, and decent customization day 1 with only a year from the last game? (reach)
customization monetization (5)
an expansive sandbox, with good maps (all the above)
and also having a good artsyle with good graphics? (reach, 4 and 5 (subjectivally, but you get my point))
