It is, its rather simple, and would completely solve the whole argument of overpriced cosmetics or predatory shop choices.
Give the player a way to earn credits while allowing those who want to circumvent the grind to buy them, every other F2P game does this to some sort of extant and it keeps those who would have quit already playing the game
If it wasn’t for the PC crashes I could get onyx ranked in way less time. So I won’t waste my breathe.
The thing is, it doesn’t feel like they are trying, and if this is them trying they need some company workers. Not that 100% of the blame lands on their head as I’m sure they had to down pressure from Microsoft. HOWEVER, this game has been in development for over 6 years now and we can’t even select Slayer, Swat, Snipers, Objective, or FFA as a playlist…what? You can do at least that in pretty much every FPS multiplayer ever. It makes the experience frustrating and feel stale. Hackers are another HUGE issue. I haven’t played so many aimbot users since Warzone in late 2020 (when I have it up because of them). They say they were expected, well, great, what are you doing about it? It’s not working currently and I can’t turn off cross play to limit it. I’m just going to leave out the entire monetization thing since that horse has been beat to death everywhere. The only thing I’ll say now is in afraid that we will get a destiny 1 bs campaign where you buy 20% of a campaign for $60 and they’ll sell you the rest in $30 increments in the future. There are also bad desync issues in mp. I can’t tell you the amount of times I did after taking cover behind walls or just don’t get a lil with a ticket despite the ticket landing on their feet. Look, I want this game to succeed and everyone is complaining so bad because they want it to succeed too. If nobody cares they’d say nothing and nothing would change. You’d still be paying $20 for purple. However, I will say this, if you are continuing to support these practices by playing the game and purchasing overpriced junk in the store nothing will change. If you want to enact change so giving them your money and time. Look at Battlefront 2. People didn’t buy it and stopped playing, them DICE fixed it and it’s actually a fun game now. I don’t want the game to die but it may need to, temporarily, so it can be properly fixed.
That’s a pretty bad take, imho. Anyone who spends money on a game has earned it one way or another. Sit down.
Guess it depends on the interpretation of “hard-earned”. And, I shouldn’t make assumptions on other peoples habits. Either way, it doesn’t matter. We can’t control what people spend their money on, either earned or not. If anyone want’s to make a statement about the monetization, they’ll either spend their “hard-earned” cash, or not, and 343i will make a determination for the betterment of their company. There is nothing wrong with voicing out your concern about the monetization of the game. I don’t agree with it, completely, but I have an understanding of economic solutions. And most feel that the $500 million budget was spent all at once, giving into the controversy of why they need to monetize so heavily. I think it would be more beneficial to everyone, especially the more impressionable people, to break down and explain why the monetization system is so bad, and not worth it.
For example: buying 2XP is a waist of money if not used to its full potential. Then explain that one can buy a battle pass level for around same price as 2XP instead. And then justify why leveling up faster might not be worth the money for what you get in return.
But, we are entitled to our own options, I guess, while “sitting down”.
Old Bungie was better than 343i…fact
Supply supporting evidence, or it’s not a fact, merely an opinion.
every other F2P game does this to some sort of extant
This is absolutely incorrect. Firstly, most F2P games don’t allow you to earn real money currency. Most F2P games use a sweat currency. And the ones that do allow you to earn their real money currency usually have very strict limits on how much you can earn. So no, “every other F2P game” doesn’t let you just grind out their real money currency.
Now if we want to talk about the introduction of a sweat currency and have shop items be purchased with both real money and sweat currency, that’s more in line with the rest of the F2P market. I’d still expect there to be premium purchase that can only be paid for with real money, just like the rest of the F2P market.
