343 is trying folks. Another good step

At least they they doing more than “listening” like some other companies cough Bungie cough.

Right away in the first week the took away all the hard challenges that people cried about. Gave the first weekly away for doing nothing more than logging in last week and now this week, multiplied the daily by at least 5x.

Now I’m not saying all is well but give credit where it is due. You can’t overhaul the whole system overnight like everyone wants. Especially if you want it done correctly. Should it have been at first, yes, they totally dropped the ball on the progression system but at least they know they screwed up and will implement changes.

So relax!!

Doesn’t matter. Last week people were saying “They’re not actually trying to make leveling up faster. This is just a ploy to frustrate players to get them to buy XP boosts.”

Then 343 releases a purely positive update for all players, and those same people are popping up again with “They’re not actually trying to make leveling up Faster. This is just a plot to make XP boosters even better.”

This community is actual trash and they’re gonna complain about everything no matter what.

So you want to give 343 a pass even though they made the conscious decision even being told during the beta in August about this predatory monetization system. And you want us to praise 343 for fixing something that they knew was broke just to make themselves look good. That’s like 343 burning down your house but being like Oh at least I saved the cat. 343 does not have a good track record. It took them seven months to give us an infection playlist in Halo 5, it took them 9 years to actually give us any kind of control over customization. Which so happens to be the exact same customization that we had 11 years ago ironically happens to be the exact same armor as well.

The imposter wins by fostering good will.
343 has a reputation for being parasitic, anti consumer, and bad developers. Judge based on that reputation. Don’t let single actions convince you they are now changed or holy or something.

Can’t please everyone. Lately it seems as if no one can be pleased and everyone is freaking out because they may miss something but the game literally just came out and isn’t even officially released.

And yes when it come to the forums, I expect nothing less than the most spoiled of bad apples lol

Nothing 343 does from here on out will be good enough for most around here. NOTHING.

Sure giving them a pass is what you got from my post? Good grief.

Btw it took Bungie over a full year to have a permanent Infection Playlist… The first few times were only around holidays. First Halloween, then Thanksgiving and then not until Valentine’s day. It was until a year where it went live permanently. So that a bad example.

Again, not giving 343 a pass and I even said it should have been done correct the first time.

Yet you are still here. If you felt this strongly why subdued yourself to this again??

Well they ignored 6 months of fllght feedback so good for them I suppose. They just dont want to get slaughtered in reviews next week.

XP still doesnt fix the lack of modes and playlists. And it definitely doesnt change the fact they thought launching without a proper account based rank system was a good idea.

The imposter wins by fostering good will.

By this logic there’s literally nothing they can do to win. They could radically overhaul so many systems to make improvements, but your conspiratorial attitude will always paint it as them being snakes.

Oh I didn’t expect a home run. There’s no competition for a Haloesque title. No other games available with shields and high TTK that matches to fun of the old arena slayer. I’ve spent $0 to try this game and I’ll continue spending $0.

I agree totally. They should have a better rank system other than what is here now. Like I said they dropped the ball big time!

If it talks like a snake, slithers like a snake, and smells with it’s tongue like a snake, it’s probably a snake. 343 cannot intentionally make the single most parasitic monetization system known to modern gaming and not be called a snake.

It is the fool who thinks to check whether or not the snake has venom. The intelligent will simply see the snake as a snake and stay away. I know some guys buying stuff from the store trying out the armor and systems. I call them fools. If the game actually functionally worked I’d be much less harsh.

I was very pissed at 343, but they restored a bit of my good will with this change to the xp gains.
It’s not the ideal (I’d rather be rewarded by my perfomance), but it’s a clear improvement over what we had before. At least the grind for levelling up will be more tolerable for the time being, until they revamp the progression system.

Can you blame them for having a store though? I imagine many can justify a bundle purchase by the game being free to play.

Early customization is obviously lacking, but I don’t think the store itself is the problem.

I do have to reply here. You mention they “took away all the hard challenges” yet stuff like “Splatter a Spartan with the Repulsor” and “Destroy 3 Wraith tanks” still pop up, maybe less frequently, but some really specific/annoying ones can pop up on occasion.

But after saying that, I will admit having the boosted experience for the first few matches does feel pretty nice, especially for when I just want to pop a couple of matches. I am definitely hoping we see some more adjustments to challenge specificity (plz don’t make me get 5 repulsor splatters) and experience per match for decent performance in each match.

Exactly, the store isn’t the problem, it’s the expectations for us to pay any price they deem to set. I’d be fine paying a reasonable price for the camo, but $15 is anti consumer.

Yeah this is my point. Nothing they can do will convince you they aren’t a snake.

Loot boxes say hi.

I suppose I finally have the better luck of the draw because since the first week I have not seen any more of the challenges that you described.

However now that I’ve been playing more I kinda wish I did only because at least those weren’t gametypes depending.
