Maybe you should take a break seeing as the community really gets to you.

I know I do

Different teams for different tasks. The two are mutually exclusive. Mapmakers aren’t necessarily well suited to debug MM issues.
misguided halo fans are to blame.

Hahaha I saw all of those posts. I was seriously thinking the guy complaining about the right handed jackals was joking…lol
And notice when he made his list he excluded bungie’s halo reach, that had right handed jackals…lol man people just leave out whatever facts that make their point invalid.
Seriously though, those were some funny posts.
> Yet the complaints about the reduction of Custom options, the cutting down of Theater and the balancing of weapons, Armor Abilities and Specializations aren’t.
Well reasoned and defensed complaints are always appropriate. But I just wanted to provide a counterpoint as someone with “the other” point of view. Please understand I’m not looking to belittle your opinions or that I even disagree with them.
Custom Options: I tried the custom thing and it never really stuck. Only one of my Halo friends plays customs. I know one of the biggest threads on this particular forum has to do with the lack of Custom options. But I representa portion of the population that didn’t even know there were reduced options available. Surely the decision to cut something at the risk of such backlash was informed by analytics?
Theater: I rarely used it Reach or H3, but yeah I think the H4 version is terrible. Still, for the amount of time I use it I’m not really missing anything.
AA/Specializations: I welcome them and enjoy them immensely, despite the flaws and glitches. The very nature of these things means they are almost always works in progress. I trust that they will be improved upon in the next TU and vastly improved in H5. As for doing away with them altogether, I recently played H3 at a friends house and found the action to be slow and far less nuanced. Again, not saying they don’t need work. They just deserve more appreciation from the fans.
Here’s hoping that the next gen platform will give 343 the bandwidth to bring customs back to their splendor while improving on the ‘combat evovled’ that makes Halo so great.

Yet the DLC also addresses a lot of issues players were having before. FFA game modes, lack of instant respawn, different game modes, smaller maps and more forge materials.
While I don’t believe they should address it via paid DLC, but it still is good that these fixes and changes are coming.
The real question is what did 343 do except for the campaign? 4 other studios did multiplayer and SO for the most part, 80% or more.
> If you’re engaging an automatic at close-range with a BR, you’re doing it wrong.
If you can kill someone with a BR at close-range than you’re doing it right…
> The real question is what did 343 do except for the campaign? 4 other studios did multiplayer and SO for the most part, 80% or more.
Why does this keep coming up?
You guys act like this is something new for developers to do. For example: Do you really think DICE was the only developer who worked on BF 3? NO! They weren’t. In fact, Danger Close helped them and that’s just one.
Many, many developers practice this.
What do you expect on this forum? There is a small group that has it’s agenda to find every little possible thing they can think of that they can use to bash 343.

The motion capture, systems design, netcode, way point website, overall design, writing, majority of the modeling (The outsourced group just renders it), play testing, QA work, Public relations, Environment design, concept art, weapon design, vehicle design, a large majority of the programing such as physics, and a host of other things.
343i may have done a lot of outsourcing, but they also did a lot of the work and simply worked hand in hand with the outsourcing companies.

> The community is. The “halo waypoint community” will complain about anything. 343 did an amazing job on halo 4. could they have done better? well that all depends on who you ask because its a matter of OPINION. Another thing is the lack of skill in players, is without a doubt at an all time low, all the pros left beacause of all the AR + Jetpack spammers. It takes NO SKILL to use the AR, or the storm Rifle, or suppressor. and it definitely takes 0 skill to use the jetpack. I love where 343 has taken halo 4, but the community shoots down everything 343 puts out. “oh the dmr is OP nerf it, the boltshot is stupid, the playlists are terrible.” thats a matter of opinion on all these things, and i think everything is great until everyone pulls out there full-autos and im the only one using the BR, then im attacked from all sides because my allies cant play halo and just spam the AR. if youre a "community, you should SUPPORT the people who made it and play it!
Another -Yoink- kisser…343 i love you…I would be deeply appreciative if you would refrain from speaking. this game really sucks because it´s suposed to continue where Halo 3 left but this game continues where COD 4 left of that´s true. And you will not get any especialization or something just by kiss 343 -Yoink-, they did a really bad job and they no it.
< An 11 year long dedicated fan of Halo since the beginning would have to disagree with that.
An important part of supporting something you love is constructively criticizing it so it can be made into something better.
Halo 4 is not that bad a game. Some people go way overboard, heck when I get into a bad losing streak against DMR/Bolthost spammers all using Camo/Jetpacks I get pretty frustrated too.
But when it all boils down, and I play some Team Doubles, or Team Throwdown. Or heck, the average game of Infinity Slayer against people using varied weapons and abilities, instead of just spamming the most overpowered options, I thoroughly enjoy it and feel that Halo 4 is a far superior game to Halo Reach, and has all the potential in the world, given some title updates and gametype setting changes, to be even as good as Halo 3.
I can’t give it credit to ever be on the level of Halo CE or Halo 2 though.

Ranks were supposed to be added on january right? but they will be added on april, do you wanna know why? cuz since 343 wont make any money out of them they couldnt care less, thousands of people wanted in game ranks but hey ranks wont cost them any money those people can wait a few more months, but oh wait dlcs mean $$$$$$$ money for 343 so they will always be on time right?
If people had to pay 800 microsoft points for ranks i bet that 343 would add them on time.
YES 343 IS THE CANCER OF HALO
All I have to say number of complaints in Reach versus the number of complaints in Halo 4… well I guess we crucified Reach in vain
as of now Reach > Halo 4 at least Reach was Halo, halo 4 is just crysis/COD
> …the Jackals were right handed…
Say it isn’t so…
DMR in SWAT is the problem.
OT: I think that lack of Customs, no Theatre in campaign and spops and weapon balancing are all legitimate concerns which aren’t really the communities fault.
