343 is fixing the current aim inconsistencies

343 has posted a new article within their news section, highly suggest you to check it out regarding the November update coming in just over a week… However, many people over the past week or so complained about inconsistencies regarding aim acceleration and the deadzones (although deadzones weren’t the main issue in this). For those people who did not support 343’s new approach in halo 5 regarding aiming, I have good news for you. Here is a quote from the article:

One thing that has become clear in absorbing all your feedback is that Halo players want choice when it comes to controls. And with that in mind, we are also working on another little pet project that will allow even more precise tuning. This update will offer more custom fine-tuned control over controller settings (hint: independent vertical/horizontal sensitivities, the ability to calibrate your own dead zones, more granularity in sensitivity, and more). We hope to have that out for you in December and we will follow up with more details later.

Hopefully, this will solve all of our issues when December rolls around. Let us all rejoice! Here is the article for you guys. https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/november-sneak-peek

Yay! I never really had major problems but have come across the “dead zone” A couple times" . Good to see 343 is listening! Never doubted they Weren’t.

I really hope people are looking into this, this thread should prevent any more threads surrounding complaints of halo 5 aiming for now until December

Need it now.

I’m very glad to here, I have been struggling with the aim. The Xbox one controllers are giving me a hard time or something.

Yes I know the game has low aim assist, but th says not quite my problem, I have played moded games with 0 aim assist. It was impossible to hit somebody but I could still move the sticks without the wierd different feel.

Idk but I hope it helps, if not I will still continue to improve and to adjust to h5.

Truthfully i really havent noticed or it hasnt been an issue for me. But its a good thibg its getting fixed if people reported a problem.

Unfortunately 343 is only addressing one portion of the aiming mechanics i.e. the nature of how the joystick creates reticle movement, but they made no mention about adjusting the aim “assist” systems in place.

Specifically, the precision aiming zone, which acts as a sensitivity drop when your reticle approaches a target. The current system diminishes all input from the player, thus making the reticle become sluggish, heavy, and unresponsive to player input. The goal from 343 is to help prevent over-aiming, but they are unfortunately generating a lot of under-aiming. Not all player input needs to be diminished. Subtle-to-normal levels of aiming correction should not be diminished until you are actually ON-Target.

Bullet Magnetism in this game is overdone. There needs to be higher emphasis put on player aiming input having intrinsic value. Too much computer controlled aiming waters down the core fundamental FPS process of pointing-and-shooting.

Overall - 343 is making a step in the right direction.

So much agreement on this!
