Honestly at this point the game as become a Check in once in a while to collect Gamepass points… And that’s it. I smashed the entire Event and weekly challenges out in one day and after that I just turn on Halo, collect the Gamepass daily points and turnit back off.
Iv fundamentaly given up on caring about cosmetics all together I don’t even care for cross core customization anymore, I think once I unlock the Helmet from the next event that is basically it for me.
I’m just using my campaign coatings at this point, like I really don’t have the energy anymore to care for this game. In the end if it fails it fails, of it succeeds it succeeds.
Iv seen this trend of overpromosed and under delivered repeated so many times from AAA gaming developers to know where this is going.
Like 2 to 3 more yrs I’ll possibly come back more invested to the game. But until than it’s just another stripped down game just to get it out the door.
I still don’t know how anyone else still has the energy to even bother with this game and trying to give opinions on it anymore… Bungie tried sending it out with a bang but 343 wanted to cash crop it and messed it all up what now for a 3rd time.
Maybe they should of just let it die. Hell maybe that’s the plan self sabatoge somethey can let it die… Microsoft has acquired enough New IPs to eventually replace this one.

Campaign coatings are the most expensive skins in the game, after all!
Too bad most are pretty scuffed.
Even the new neon chroma has dirt and mud all over it. Why the heck are the only clean and pristine chromas the esports ones.
Yeah, players blamed Activision for years about Destiny, but when reality set in that it was Bungie all of them went silent. I remember a couple of years back how all these players were so happy that they separated and those same players had this illusion that Bungie was going to make the game they always wanted. Boy did those players get a rude awakening.
For anyone to even attempt to put most of the blame on a publisher is really foolish when the developer has creative control. 343 higher-ups are the ones that decide what content is released, cut, etc… Not Microsoft, they would be more interested in the shop and the blame for that if anything. So in spite of Microsoft being the problem as well not providing the resources 343 actually needs, and vary poor leaders ship when it comes to 343.
They are both to blame for this mess that is far worse off than the previous titles.

I’ve never bought the BP so there really isn’t any reason to play the game other than MP once in a while, but I’m already really bored with that so I see no point playing until they add some actual content.

The community overall is dropping the ball in how ridiculous it is in this. Officially one of those toxic fanbases no one wants to really be a part of.
You can thank the community for that. They shoot themselves in the foot when the Watchdog coating was first shown before the game came out. « It wasn’t Halo enough », « it wasn’t gritty enough for a spartan », « it was too plasticky like Halo 5 ».

I hate to say I told everyone so, but I’d called this since they announced the armour core system, no per match xp and F2P. Now that everyone is removing their rose coloured glasses they’re seeing what 343 are actually doing with this game, and it really isn’t good.
The series either needs laying to rest, or something gargantuan needs to happen internally to actually bring about some real change. This game suffers from worse issues than the previous 343i installments, but is just reskinned to attempt to cover up said issues. It’s sad really.

Whaaaaaaaat? People wanted dirt marks? I mean it fits the normal chromas sure, but the neon carbon fiber vibrant suit doesn’t…
I mean maybe that can be a customization option in the future, amount of wear and tear.
Just sick of the uncostomizable esports armor kits being the best looking ones in the game.

Dude I don’t even think there is an option to just mute specific Players in matches.
Hate to say it but COD warzone had a better UI and teamate setup for voice and mute
It’s not the first time where the community doesn’t know what’s best for the game and they still get accommodated. They wanted the Battle Pass less grindy and the challenges easier, too.
Now everyone’s done with the Pass and half of them are here complaining that there’s nothing to do with the game. Now I know that if the game had a real progression outside of the Pass, this wouldn’t be a problem. But there isn’t for now so it’s still a contradiction.
The challenge system since it got overhauled is pretty much now « get kills and play games », boring as hell.
And don’t get me started on Halo 5 when the community had the devs nerf the entire sandbox after a year. What a watered down, unsatisfying mess that was after that.

Yeah I don’t know why they went the challenges route, I like just playing the game to win, not “oh a mangler, I have a challenge for this, and thus will try my best to use the mangler as opposed to focusing on securing the dub”
Yeah I agree that the challenges should have been a side thing like Reach or the commendations on H5, not the only way to progress and the FOMO stuff.
I just think that since we’re stuck with them, might as well make them interesting. I’m pretty sure we were told at some point that the Campaign would have them, too.

Didn’t they lock that thread and say in no uncertain terms that they weren’t going to do anything different with the body types?
They tend to play coy when something isn’t a priority, so the definitive “No” is a pretty bad sign

I just kinda wish 343 would come out and just admit they screwed up. It would do wonders rather than just keep on saying they’re gonna improve things. CD Projekt Red had to do this after Cyberpunk 2077 came out, and while it didn’t make the game any better, it helped to salvage some goodwill. Not saying this game is Cyberpunk levels of awful, but there are definitely things they severely messed up on.
I’m still gonna play this game cause I find the gameplay enjoyable, but there is much left to be desired.
Agreed. The social media posts, community playdates, etc. seem desperate to pretend it is all business as usual when it clearly isn’t and it is creating this weird disconnect between the players and devs.

343 are getting paid… game pass is growing hugely with new users…. The only thing that will get fixed or changed in this game will be BTB and connection issues. Everything else is full steam ahead (even if you think the train is going backwards) the margin for change is minimal.

Right like at this point I’m like it is what it is. Idk now that Microsoft owns Activision perhaps way get a decent COD game … if anything. At least Warzone is a decent game and free to play.
Like dude it’s sad when games like Fort it’s have been doing better and Warzone is something I have considered redownloading as most of my friends have shift back to that… God dang Thanos of games lol.
But Halo was the game that had my hopes up because I was like dude 343 knows it can’t drop the ball a third time… And boom… We got Halo 5 but stripped down, with like a sprinkle of CODs and Fortnite but the worst executed way.
like 343 really went hey we could allow them to buy things individually in the bundles like Fortnite does… But no let’s just cut that feature…
And we could create a separate progress system from the Battlepass like COD does… But naw let’s cut that feature also.
They have a plethora of examples of how to do a Live Service and Battlepass and it’s almost like they just rushed together something in the last year and said aight we will fix it as we go
