Halo Infinite is an excellent game, but you are
right to call out just how bad this launch has been.
Terrible aiming
Forced cross-play
No King of the Hill
No Doubles
No co-op

Itās very strange what 343 has done with Halo.

Iām right there with you man. Iāve mainly played halo since itās inception and this is the first one Iām not hooked on playing. Itās boring with no progression, I feel like Iām not earning things that I want and itās just not fun.
The weapons feel ok but a lot of them just feel weird to use compared to past games. Most of the new weapons feel out of place and just added in for the sake of ābeing newā.
We want HALO, whereās the og shotgun, plasma rifle, dmr, smg, needler rifle, brute shot, fuel rod, the old hammer with actual physics, og plasma pistol, the beam rifle lol like I can go on and on.
The foundation feels great, I feels like they just are playing it safe with halo. Trying to give us that classic feel but with their own modern twist to it (like the weapons) that we donāt want.
Gives us the old sandbox that made weapons harder to use and rewarded those who mastered the weapons. The BR gives you free headshots with its vertical recoil when you aim at the chest lol itās ridiculous.
I seriously want to love this game but where are the unique awesome maps, modes, weapons, customization, progression system, og radar, player collision, service record, pregame lobby, post game lobby, veto system, dynamic map elements, and I can go on and on.
This game needs a lot of work and they need to fix it fast before a year from now ppl forget about it. 343i plz get it together
The neon one is actually $9.73 dollars US so thatās a clear lie.
Not everyone lives in the us, in canada its around 12$ plus tax for 1,000 credits, and thats not enough for the one bundle, so you beed to buy the 500 credits bundle for 6$, so while one is $12 the other is closer to 20$ unless you just spend the 20$ for the 2000 cr bundle with and additional 200 credits (funny how that amount is perfect for buying both bundles)
People forget the problems/struggles of a game close to launch, its why you bring up Halo 5 even though it had tons of issues that werenāt addressed until many months after launch.
If you can forgive Halo 4/5 for all their faults when they were released why not do the same for Infinite?
The real issue isnāt them losing core players that have been playing Halo since CE, the real issue is that theyāve already lost tens of thousands of new players because all they saw was a game that was mediocre compared to the games they typically play (Fortnite, Apex, etc.) and the future of this game is up in the air because it wouldnāt surprise anyone if it dropped more dramatically and it ends up as a failure (based off of expectations)
donāt worry this new game mode is clearly a beta test for BR mechanics maybe ppl will come back when they put out that mode LOL
This has been said by others but 343 would be doing a HUGE service for themselves if they just released and committed to a detailed roadmap - h5 may have released barebones but atleast it had a roadmap released to the community that they committed to. The fact that no such roadmap has been released yet to me is the biggest concern.
Didnāt they say a roadmap would be released in February?
I just hope not to be bored out of my seat by anything they have planned lol.
Yeah I live in Australia and the AUD is even lower than the US and Canada and I only paid $13 dollars AUD for the neon pack with 10 itemsā¦
So it is NOT $15-20 dollars like you said, you added a bit of flavour on that price to help your argument.
I bought both bundles for $25 dollars AUD so again, that is false.
I will however agree with you that the credits are conveniently priced for you to buy both as I did, but the price is not what you quoted.
If there is a roadmap⦠will they even follow it?
Remember when Halos 4, 5 and 6 were supposed to be a trilogy? (PSSSSSYCH!!!)
Did they? I may have missed that.
Either way thatās very late just to release a roadmap for live service. The only silver lining I see there is maybeitās taking so long since itās a ground up redo of their initial plans that the old leadership made.
I never did forgive what was done to halo 4/5.
Halo 4 split the playerbase and halo 5 got us in this garbage basket of getting halo games release unfinished, the only reason i can cut halo 5 some slack now is that its content complete with everything they promised, it only took a couple years and i and many other players are not trying to relive the past.
Infinite has been plagued with far more problems then halo 5 and released with even less content, so when its on par with the last game in the series ill cut it some slack.
Inability to push an update without breaking the game is so evident of how bad things are over at 343 right now
Because they legit had a plan for halo 5, i dont know what happened to that team, they seemed perfectly capable of pushing updates in a timely manner and without breaking the game. Halo infinite feels so last minute and they are scrambling to get the road map together, at best it will outline content until may and no further, i dont see much word on content for s2
Neon beat for 1,000 credits is $12 canadian, id show you if waypoint allowed images, and the other bundle is 1,200 cr, 500 cr being $6, so if you just wanted the 1,200 bundle youd have to fork over almost 17$ plus tax on both purchases.
Its all an incentive to push for the $20 bundle
I almost find it scummy how they said theyd lower prices only to do it in a way that still pushes you to spend the most money possible, not even that these bundles are worth the price
They have not stated at all when the roadmap is being unveiled, just that its coming
Yeah actually I do see where you are coming from that instance.
You mean that because there isnāt a set option to buy the amount of credits needed you have to go up one and get the $25 option as I did.
I get ya, that actually did annoy me a little bit. That does need some work I admit, but pretty much every video game delivers the same options to force players to buy more. I guess they need to make some money some how.
Unfortunately, what you and I regard a sneaky business tactic is regarded as good marketing for MS and 343.
Yeah well, the more its called out the less they will do it, people need to understand that this wasnt a price reduction it was a ploy to get that 20$ purchase out of even more people who justified buying the two discounted bundles, beyond sneaky.
Everyday 343 puts more distance between them and the community, i wonder when itll finally reach boiling point again like when the board that shall not be named closwd
Split playerbase is putting it gently. It fractioned the playerbase lol. I would argue that Halo 4 was by far the most disappointing Halo game ever madeā¦
Yeah 2 years later⦠My point is that using that same logic wait another 2 years for Infinite, rinse repeat.
The problem lies with the fact that 343 promised to learn from their mistakes with halo 5 (too competitive, story sucked, customization was horrid, no forge, and heavy mtx) and then showed how much they progressed as a company with the trailers and reveals only for it all to be a fabrication, no forge again, even heavier mtx, less maps and modes then halo 5 at release, people are fed up with 343 promising us the moon and giving us nothing like what they showed
I fully agree in 2 years this game will have fixed its problems, if not itll be dead but they wont let that happen, just that many of us myself included have many other f2p investment games going right now to throw them away for the halo infinite beta, no one wants to wait all over again for a functional content complete halo game when they have 20 years of games to pull influence from
Iām a massive halo fan. Even though I was planning on playing this on PC, i snagged a limited edition Halo Infinite Console and the Halo Elite Series 2 controller. I bought these as collectables. I have the entire series including Infinite on disc.
I have halo figures from 3 i even have a promotional Halo 2 mouse matt that wasnāt sold. To say Iām a fan of the franchise is an understatement⦠Iām a total halo nerd.
With that in mind⦠it absolutely pains me to say this but this game is broken beyond belief. I totally get that new games these days have the whole push it now, patch it later approach but the last hotfix that has seemingly broken even the regular playlists and made the desync even more unbearable and killed any optimism I had left for the game.
I could forgive the lack of content if the base game worked, but lets be honest here, its just flat out broke. The game is frustrating to try and play and its a total gamble if you are going to be even placed into a server in your own region, not that it matters that much with the desync issues anyway.
Hell, the store didnāt even bother me, neither did the lack of customisation. All i wanted was to get amongst it and get some kills. I cant do that without ending up frustrated by the absolute mess that is the servers and the wonky matchmaking that has a match decided before you are even loaded into a game.
The game is pretty much dead already on PC at least, and its probably fair to assume that the drop out rate seen on steam is on par with the console version and probably the even less used MS store for windows.
In the last 30 days alone, the player count has dropped just over 40%, from launch its down now 90% of the players it started with.
There are just too many issues and yesterdays hotfix has told us that its going to be a hard slog going forward to get any of the core issues that makes it such a frustrating experience working any time soon, if they can even be fixed at all.
Halo needs a dedicated studio to make a comeback, and it has never had one to begin with. It has a management suit that outsource work on a contract basis. There is more job security at a McDonalds.
When Bungie created the franchise, you could tell there was passion. Now its just about dollars and run by bean counters.
If this game wasnāt part of the Halo family, we wouldnāt have even gave it the time of day. It would be just another broken battlefield or Call of Duty game. The only thing that has us hanging on is brand loyalty and the management behind that brand is fully aware of that and is just trying to milk it for what is left.
Iām not even going to get into the laundry list of issues it has, we all know what they are, there is no point going on and on about it.
This probably will be the last Halo game and it sucks so bad that its such a turkey.
RIP, Halo. Thanks for all the good times but its time to let you go.
