That was the ONLY well said argument i have read in my life. But where didya hear that there were kill cams? Also, weapons mods will make the game better, you can personalize your gun, and is the upper hand halo needs. I mean 500 years in the future and we cant mod our guns? That would be kinda crap
.
Smh…another one
I agree.
I like Reach and everything, but AAs were NOT implented correctly. They should’ve been map pick-ups (Sprint included) or have a limit to have many people could have an ability at once.
I don’t mind having customized guns (as long as they are purely cosmetic), but the idea of someone being better than a lower level just because he played more is terrible.
There are lots of things from CoD I wouldn’t mind. Game-Ending Killcams, Weapon skins(Already done and only cosmetic), and some other stuff I couldn’t think of.
I couldn’t agree with you more completely. When I’m against things, It’s not because it’s from CoD, It’s just cause I think they’re bad for gameplay.

Read the whole thing. I know it’s a long read but I try as best I can to differentiate myself from my peers.

I agree 100% besides Armor Lock, the rest of the AA’s could have worked perfectly as pick-ups. Its a shame that Bungie introduced the “Loadout” concept, because it really held the game back.
And gun customization is fine by me too, but like you said if I’ve played to the point where I have a Perk that makes me more powerful and you haven’t yet, that’s completely unfair.

I’d like those things too. GWK’s are some of the most fun and satisfying parts of COD and it would be a cool feature to see in Halo 4.
That is the point I am trying to stress. Not all of the people who are skeptical about the game hate it simply because it’s becoming similar to COD, but are skeptical because they are unsure of the changes that are being made.
Halo made a massive impact on FPS gaming, it showed that FPS could be played on console, even online. It gave us features and freedom like never before, Forge our own maps, play custom games or online multiplayer, it added a much needed skillgap and taught us that running for the rocket is not the best way to win the game.
However, after Halo 3 there was nothing, a few games were released (ODST, Wars) but neither added something to the core Halo (MP) fans. They got bored and started to look for new games.
Along came this new rising star CoD, it fixed many flaws of the Halo games. Good players were rewarded (streaks) and bad ones got a small handicap, you could join games in progress and never had to play 1 vs 8, maps were small but intense and no more tank spawn-kill. You could earn rank by playing with friends and having fun, and once you’ve reached the top you could do it again for fun. You could customize character and weapon like never before, matchmaking was fast, they’d even add a camper prevention (kill cam).
Halo Reach was released, and while it tried to fix some of the flaws of previous games, it felt old and dated compared to what the other games did offer. The only seemingly unique feature (AAs) had already been done, and even better, in a game known for it’s abilities (Crysis). There were no reason to leave other games in favor of Halo any more, it was old already at release…
Well, now we’ve got Halo 4 coming soon and while 343i has managed to implement some of the standard features we’ve gotten used to from other games (join in progress, load-outs, exp-based rank etc) Halo 4 still lacks one major factor, the factor that once made the Halo games so poplar…Innovation!
Right now CoD brings more “new” stuff to their games then Halo, which is exactly why Cod is bigger. People want new things, they want new gameplay and features, guns and maps, they want a new (but yet familiar) experience. 343i are right now bragging about “new features in Halo” that other games have had for years, no one is impressed. They need to bring new things, unique thing only found in Halo. Give us a reason to play Halo instead of CoD, BF or such.
343i, the Halo community is starving! I hope for all our sake that you at E3 will bring out the new and unique ideas, show that Halo 4 is more then just copied features and dated gameplay. Halo was once the game that were leading the FPS genre and can be again, as soon as you add new stuff! Even if it is bad, better try and fail then to never try.
Only then can Halo become great, and Halo be fun again, more fun then any other game, just like it used to be!
TL;DR
Halo need change and new things, implementing popular features from other games is a good start, make the gameplay feel “up to date”. But in order to make it a great game, something more then a CoD clone, you need to bring new and unique features and gameplay to Halo again!
Horde, Forge, Theater, weapon skins, join in progress, loadouts, armor customization, custom games, destructible environments, killcam, multiplayer, campaign, AAs, that’s stuff we already got in other games. Halo 4 must bring something new, just like Horde did in Gears. Give us the next big feature of FPS gaming, and Halo 4 will be the best game at E3 once again!
…and if you don’t, CoD might very well do it instead

I agree with this completely. Other than Spartan Ops, which isn’t in Multiplayer, the only things 343 seems to be adding are things that have been in other games for years. We need something that isn’t in ANY game if we want to draw in new players.
I think thats what 343 doesn’t get. I think that they believe COD and Battlefield are popular because of little things like Classes and Killcams, when in reality, they are so popular because of things like Zombies in COD or the epic aerial battles in Battlefield.
If 343 wants to reinvent Halo, they need to stop looking at existing concepts and come up with something new. Hopefully, Spartan Ops will fill that role
Me personally I don’t hate the new AA, but I do hate how you start with them. 343 is it really so hard to make the AA spawn on the map like you could do with reach??
Innovation- dynamic melee combat? I really can’t think of anything right now.
I think that 343 has some time though, the CoDs stopped changing after COD4.
Is there much of a choice at this point. Halo’s gameplay has become boring due to the dominate tactics. Basically I’m speaking of one gun to rule them all the BR or DMR which leads to very predictable matches AAs aim to break that. All 343i is trying to do is to bring in new elements to assist a fading idea of dominate tactics. AAs allow for more varied gameplay styles and so on allowing new players to not play like everyone easel but to play as they want to play. Now it coping COD is irrelevant that like saying Dr Pepper copied Coca Cola. (or vis versia) when making a product or anything that needs the ability to think people often look to other products or ideas for inspiration often taking that idea and improving upon it. That could be easily be seen from products to philosophical beliefs. To say something is ‘coping’ is a broad statement. Yes the Augmentation are similar to COD but look whats different. You can only have one. The are of during certain playlist (classic playlist confirmed) as well most are unlocked at the start of the game only a few are locked (or what I seen might be untrue {not going to reference my source}). Moving on to kill cams they can be disabled that’s all I have to say.
Over all you made a great argument but coping is not the right term and in the games industry its hard not to copy should COD be attacked for using regenerative health no.
