343 is being smart. Adding a dynamic and long lasting Halo 4. Something people can’t really look forward to sadly, but should.
Halo1-3 (and Reach) have pretty much been static games. Static as in they never change as the game goes on. Yes I know Map Packs come out but it’s overall the same game. Which isn’t bad, If a game is good it’s fine. However overall can become unappealing to some people.
So what does this “Dynamic” Halo 4 mean?
It means the game will slowly change and adapt as the weeks and time go on. Either by player choice and by given content. For example Spartan Ops already creates a dynamic, long lasting, helpful addition to Halo which we have never seen. It gives players more incentive to play the game.
M.P is interesting. Loadouts aren’t what im talking about. It’s Specifications (I did spell that right). Which doesn’t come into play at the start of the game. Yet once the first batch of 50’s come along people can get a few. Which will slowly yet surely “Change” the gameplay
How is this good…Halo should be Halo
And it is. Yet what refers to “Halo”. Why is Duel Wielding and Boarding "Halo"ish yet Loadouts and abilities aren’t? Seems to be more nostalgic elitism to me. Halo is always Halo. It’s more of the story, gameplay, and fun. Each Halo changes big. No reason to expect Halo 4 to not change.
It’s good because it gives the game more life and spirit. It’s growing and adapting because Halo:CE style Halo is no longer relevant to today. Fun as it is, it just doesn’t work anymore. Same reason DOOM, Quake, and Duke Nukem don’t really work anymore either.
The problem most people seem to have is caused by the fact that we live in a MP world today. For some reason alot of people only see HALO for its MM opportunities instead of the story that it holds. For me as long as no one -Yoinks!- up my story then I am happy. Adding new things and adapting things other games have tried is the life blood of the gaming world, especially with FPS games there is not much out there really that is “new”
reach wasn’t static, it changed quite a bit from halo 3 and the rest that came before. for one thing, it did away with several of the useless components from prior games(EG dual wielding, the smg) and overall became a much different game then its predecessors. halo 4 is building on the Reach formula in reality, it adds several new things and upgrades ideas from reach.

Agreed we wouldn’t want it turning out like Mass effect 3 now would we (Basing on different genre but end game is still the same).
ot: Not sure what to think really I’m just keeping my mind open until I actually play the game.

(I actually loved Halo 2, but people forget that Halo 2 wasn’t well received for all the fans…
And yes. I think Halo 4, has the potential to be the best Halo for now.
Pretty sure, Halo 5, will actually be, the best Halo game ever…
343 Industries will have the experience, the tech(Next-xbox360), the lesson that they will learn from Halo 4, will propably be much more friendly with e-sports. And will be the flag game for the next gen. Around 2014-2015.

Well ofcourse apart from that website (Totally forgot that website)
343i is indeed doing a fine job on Halo. I never really was worried at all regarding a new dev for Halo.

Overall you make a good point about Halo 4, but just to clarify why Load-outs and AA’s aren’t “Halo-ish”…
AA’s and Load-outs fundamentally alter the core (fundamental) Halo gameplay. Halo was based around pre-spawn equality, a term that falls on newer Halo fans deaf ears.
Pre-spawn equality means that at the start of the game, and every subsequent re-spawn, all players start that life equal. Same base traits and same weapons. Load-outs and AA’s cause an imbalance at the start of a player’s life. Instead of two players spawning and meeting each other equally, with only skill as the determining factor of the outcome, one player might have Armor Lock to save their -Yoink- or another might have Jetpack to fly away.
Dual wielding and vehicle jacking do not disturb pre-spawn equality and thus, do nothing to fundamentally alter the core of the gameplay. Yes, they do change the way the game is played, but they do not affect the nature of player vs. player encounters.
Anything that is in a Halo game is technically “Halo” but one must understand some additions add to the gameplay (vehicle jacking and dual wielding) while others change the gameplay (AA’s and Load-outs). There’s HUGE difference.

There is no doubt that Halo 4 will be a heavy testing stage to see what does and does not work in terms of multiplayer game play.
I suspect that Spartan Ops will be the same in seeing what does and does not work there, and personally, I hope that they continue Spartan Ops in future installments to the franchise.
Of course with all the play testing that they are doing at 343 Industries, I’m sure that the final build of multiplayer will be heavily different and tuned than the first.
