343 is a joke

Do not make nonconstructive posts.

havent played since halo 3. What the hell happened. Ranking system is a joke. I win 5 of my 10 FFA placement games in December. Top 3 in all but 1. Break out gold 4. This season I play like utter crap. 1 win 3 top 3s plat 4. Guys I play with in arena have worse stats break out higher. Utter joke. Then give me a few silvers to do battle with diamond n onyx… Gee thanks 343. Probably a Solid 40% of my games I play solo I have a guy drop. It’s an insane amount. I gripe about bans not being strict, then today internet drops and I get on to discover I’m banned for 10 hours. Only arena game I have dropped in days. Never been banned. 10 hours. What a joke. I could go on for days. This game is but a sliver of what halo 3 was. Please sell it back to Bungie. You have ruined it enough. And if you want to see some shotgun discrepancy just hi me up 343. Got an entire archive of inconsistency

Threads like these don’t help anything. There is a legitimate discussion to be had about ban times and inconsistencies in them being dolled out under certain circumstances. But saying to sell it back to Bungie, which isn’t 343’s choice to make, is a pointless argument since it won’t happen.

Well I lost 1 min of my life

That, and the Bungie we all know and love is gone. Marty’s out, Staten’s out, and IIRC, there was a rumor circulating about a year ago that a lot of the old guard of Bungie was getting phased out by Activision (Though I don’t know how true this was)

But yeah, these threads don’t help at all.

Stay strong. But yeah, original Bungie was epic.

I’m supporting this game, and 343. I love H5.

You do realize 343 Industries was formed out of Bungie, right? They were the Bungie employees that wanted to keep making Halo games. Bungie as a company decided to move on. They couldn’t sell back to Bungie if they wanted, because Bungie was done with Halo.

I do agree, to a certain degree, that 343 is nothing compared to Bungie back when Bungie was making Halo games. But 343 is not a joke. They are doing their best, and if it weren’t for them, there wouldn’t even be a Halo 4, Halo Spartan Assault, Halo Spartan Strike, Halo 5: Guardians, or Halo Wars 2. They are what’s keeping the Halo series growing (in a manner of speaking). Do I like what they’re doing? No. Are they making games that are garbage? Hell no. The core gameplay is top notch. The issues are with other aspects, such as story writing, whoever designed the matchmaking (looking at it right now if it were a concept, it sounds good, but it really isn’t that good in practice), and whoever decided it was a good idea to ship the game without Forge, Infection, more than 2 Warzone maps, etc. which is entirely Microsoft’s fault. Microsoft is most likely the people who made a lot of the end decisions, as most publishers do.

They seem to be true, as complaints on Destiny are the same as those of Halo 5, so odds are if Bungie was in charge, it would’ve been exactly the same, but with better matchmaking and a flashier HUD and UI…

this is only partially correct, if i remember correctly only about 10 of the employees were bungie

What an utter waste of thread space. I feel bad just bumping this thread to say that.

If I recall correctly, Bungie killed Halo…

Everything in the post that isn’t an opinion is wrong.

It was formed out of 10 or so Bungie Employees that left, at best. There’s most likely even less by this stage

There were also people from Free Radical, as well as from Pandemic when it shut down as well. But the talent that currently inhabits 343 is full of people from various backgrounds.

TIm Longo, for example, was Lead Designer on Republic Commando, and worked a lot with Crystal Dynamics and LucasArts. The rest could very well be people who grew up with Halo like you and me.

Are you sure you’re not being biased? They were done with Halo by Halo:Reach. Why do you think they gave it up? Unless, of course, you’re saying that’s an “opinion.”, and it was formed out of a few Bungie Employees, (Big hint, Frank O’Connor was at Bungie) so that isn’t entirely inaccurate.

But that’s why you shouldn’t generalize.

This may be the only Halo game I hate but selling it back to Bungie would not be the answer, in fact they’d probably only fill it with even more microtransactions that would break the game like they did with destiny,
Instead of ranting aimlessly you should put together a good argument with valid reasons as to why you want these changes instead of making everyone who hates halo 5 look like a bunch of Bungie fanboys. You’re not helping us make Halo great again like this.

343 is amazing

If I was being biased I wouldn’t have excluded his opinions. He made many false statements in that post.

Their contract with MS ended after they created Reach. That’s why they stop making the games, because MS owns Halo (and they always did, not Bungie) and MS created 343i specifically to continue making Halo games. Bungie couldn’t develop Halo again even if they wanted to. 343 was made up of no more than a handful - five - former Bungie employees and I believe there’s less there now.

343 has their faults, but I’d say less than Bungie does. They care way more about the universe, have (in my opinion) a much more unified and consistent art style, and actually gave Master Chief a personality other than ‘one liner machine.’ They gave us a wonderful story with 4 and wonderful gameplay with 5 (though to be fair, 4 suffers a bit in gameplay while 5’s story was kinda dumb). Bungie released Destiny, a game that was only finished in the loosest sense of the word.

Honestly, did you really feel the need to post a topic designed to illicit a flame war?
