Hello, I am posting this forum to ask a simple question. I am writing a book and it’s about halo, I was wondering if am agent or Employee at 343 Industries could message me because I have some question and concerns i would like to discuss.
If you’re just writing a fanfic and not planning to publish for profit, you don’t need any official permission to do so. Or, rather, 343i/Microsoft probably wouldn’t hit you with copyright infringement, because you wouldn’t be taking potential profits from their IP.
If you do desire to profit from your book, you’d need a license from Microsoft to do so. And generally you don’t ask for such a thing; they approach you with an offer to write something for them, if your reputation and portfolio are good enough.
