343 Industries, you honestly could've done better.

I will admit it, I am a Halo fan boy but 343 Industries you didn’t make this game live up to the hype. The campaign didn’t really live up to the hype it had and it was too short, plus you could not play as your favorite super soldier most of the game. The game is also not new player friendly with the story, how are new players supposed to know who the hell that no armed lady is. They could’ve made the plot really cool too with the hunt the truth thing but there is only one damn fight where they punch each other. It would’ve been cool if you were Locke and you fought Chief in a boss battle. I think they should have added split screen too though, I remember the days going over my friends house and hanging out playing some Halo offline. It was like the coolest thing to do when I was a child. About the multiplayer map rotation, it gives me a huge headache. I play the same map like 20 times even though they’re like 6 in each playlist. We should be able to vote on the map we want to play again. Being an elite in multiplayer again would also be cool but that doesn’t really matter. Not having forge right away was also a big screw up on their part, because that is what most of the community likes to do. They like to play community made maps with their friends and not have to play multiplayer all the time. They should’ve also added social playlists with game modes like king of the hill, grifball, oddball, and things like that, not everyone wants to play ranked with tryhards all the time. If they fixed those things the game would be pretty solid. Don’t get me wrong Halo 5 is a good game but it could’ve been way better.

I agree with most of your points. The only thing I clearly disagree with is the voting because if there was voting, people would vote the same maps over and over again (from my experience). I think that the map rotation is the right way to go although they probably need to improve the algorithms which decide what map is chosen.

Yeah you’re right I didn’t think of the map voting thing that way.

Just add Vetos back in from Halo 3.

My point exactly, Halo 5 is necessarily a bad game but it seriously could have/should have been better. The campaign is the biggest disappointment for me personally. There’s almost a “standard” if you will for campaigns in the series, and Halo 5 didn’t live up to it at all. Normal plot holes like in Halo 3 are sort of alright, but blatant bad writing is rare for a halo title.

Gotta give props to 343 on MP though, gameplay is fun and really smooth. Although Idk why there is so few maps and gametypes (no social playlists either?). Not a big fan of “slowly releasing more content to try to keep players coming back”. All of this DLC stuff should have been present at launch IMO. It’s like paying 60$ for a cookie, but you only get 1/4 of it at first, then slowly getting the rest of split up every few months.

343 could be doing better, but they could be doing worse.
