343 Industries: Thank You. Halo 4 is GREAT!

Dear 343 Industries:

Please don’t pay attention to the whiners, complainers, and nonsensical drivel being written on the forums by ignorant gamers who really don’t get that a game cannot be the same every year. These are the same folks that complained that Halo 2 wasn’t as good as Halo, then that Halo 3 wasn’t as good as Halo 2, then that Halo Reach wasn’t as good as Halo 3. If Halo 4 was the same as Halo Reach or Halo 3 They would have complained about that too.

Just ignore them, and listen to the real fans. The fans that aren’t on here complaining because they’re simply having far too much fun playing your game. They’re loving the gorgeous visuals, fantastic sound design, excellent gunplay, and well written story.

They’re not here because they’re seeing and loving what you’ve dumped your heart and soul into.

Halo 4 is an awesome piece of work, and every single person that worked on it deserves to be told so.

Don’t listen to the whiners on these forums - you did it.

The Halo Nation thanks you.

Sincerely,
Jeremiah
aka “LordGideon”

Why not take the rose tinted glasses off and see that the game isn’t perfect and that it does needs many things fixed,

I’m fed up seeing so many threads saying the game perfect and wonderful, when plenty others can see it’s far from perfect and has many issues,

The game is decent, but it’s far from perfect and needs many changes/additions/ommisions implemented before can even come close to being perfect.

And FYI, unlike Bungie, 343 WILL listen to the user critics, and WILL be making changes, for the better i may add.

There can be some tweaks here and there but overall the game is fantastic and I’m enjoying it thoroughly. The constant whining about a week old game gets tired really fast and what these clowns don’t realize is that the verbal sewage they spew constantly only serves to keep 343i FROM posting on the forum.

If we actually had a mature player base that could discuss things reasonably, you would see devs around here (as you do on other game forums). Sadly, this is not the case.

Sorry there, Stevie, but the majority of the Halo Nation disagrees with you in the most striking terms. Halo 4 needed a kick in the pants. It got it. I’m hoping nothing about the gameplay is changed.

If it was true that the game has an avalanche of problems as you state, there would be more than twenty people complaining about it on these forums.

'nuff said.

And yet 343i has already made statements concerning many of the matchmaking issues and complaints. While it’s fair to give and honest critique, a lot of players are just complaining and flaming. All they really need to do is have patience, because we KNOW most of what is complained about is coming to the game sooner or later.

So i’m with OP- thanks 343i!

Stop Trying to speak for “true fans” OP.

Halo 4 is not that good. The story is lacking especially.

I think you are blinded by the graphics and music and gameplay designed for people with short attention spans, just like how the arbiter was blinded by the glory of first seeing the halo rings.

But you don’t even know what I’m talking about and you consider yourself a “true” halo fan.

That most likely the case.

It’s fan-boys like you that piss me off.

Halo4 needs a good fix. The potential is there, but I was utterly dissatisfied with the product on launch day. And still am.

No, it isn’t just om these forums that issues are constantly being highlighted,

search around and you’ll find there are many disappointed and frustrated fans regarding the game,

the silly ‘fanboy’ (and this isn’t meant to offend) attitude where everything in the garden is rosy, is as irritating as the annoyances in the game,

It’s obvious there are many issues that need resolved, and it’s obvious to many players in the Halo Universe, and frankly the sooner the changes come the better,

I hate dissing the game, but criticism is fair and also required when it’s warranted, and in this case it is on both counts,

As i previously mentioned, the fundamentals of the game are good, but it’s far from being great or perfect, but i do have faith the issues will be dealt with,

on a side note, i’ve just had a few matches of Slayer and Swat, and the whole population was around the 35K mark, which speaks volumes as far as i’m concerned given the release of a game i’d rather not mention.

Halo 4 has the worst multiplayer out of any fps game I’ve ever played. The lead multiplayer designer of this game should be fired.

Technically, wouldn’t ‘true Halo fans’ be the people who have bought every game for the continuing story of the campaign and maybe even read the literature? In my time on these forums, the majority of the complainers are constantly making comparisons to ‘other FPS’ and ‘other online multiplayer games’. As a XBox 360 owner who bought it just for Halo and owns no other FPS game other than every Halo release, I find this disingenous . . . Please stop bandying about this true Halo fan crap. The game is an amazing culmination of a lot of hard work, and an illustration of what can go wrong with complicated tasks. No one makes perfect games, otherwise they’d be out of jobs. More posts like OPs should be written. I’m sure there are forums where you can throw around FPS comparisons, kill shot counts, internet tech stats, etc. - as a long time fan/very average player I’d like to log on and read about Halo please. How to beat the game, how to enhance your OWN experience, some multiplayer ADVICE for players like me, and maybe some speculation on the story. And a compliment every now and then.

The lag I sometimes get is ridiculous, but I love the new multiplayer. Custom games really need some fixing and I hope they don’t plan on abandoning them, but I still think they did an awesome job with the multiplayer.

I’d like to see a list of all the complaints that people have with the game.

I personally agree that the game is fantastic, but I’ll acknowledge that it needs a few tweaks.

All of you have to realize that none of you speak for the majority of Halo players. If the game sold 3 million copies (and it probably has), then there would need to be 300,000 active complainers/fanboys to represent just 10% of those who have purchased the game. We all know that you couldn’t combine all the current active Halo forums on the internet and come up with 300,000 players who care enough about it to argue with strangers about it on the internet, let alone spend a serious amount of time airing out their grievances.

I’m in agreement with Gamma 46.

343 made some great strides in my book when they took the reins for Halo Reach and I expect no less from them with Halo 4, even though I think they have a much better game to tweak this time around.
