343 Industries.... Please

There has been for awhile now lots of arguments regarding the Elites aka Sangheili pertaining to the multiplayer and future of Halo. 343 industries claimed the reason they don’t want to add Elites to multiplayer is the game would become imbalanced and it would take a lot longer to produce, and that they don’t fit with their vision for the next halo games: Halo 5 in particular. I want to point out some very basic flaws in their reasoning for Halo 5… In case no one noticed or didn’t know, the lore states that Swords of Sanghelios often participate in spartan war games aboard the UNSC infinity and other facilities that have the applications for war games. Now pertaining to Halo 5, in the campaign if you notice (It rarely happens but does indeed happen) Sangheili will uses short term thruster pack like boost to get on top of ledges and areas quicker. Also, Sangheili have a natural ability to “Evade” and can run extremely fast. Now in Halo 5 multiplayer we see Spartans with infinite sprint, thruster packs, Charges, ground pounds, and a variety of other “abilities”. Now with the lore stating Sangheili participate in these war games, and visuals from campaign of Sangheili using equipment/abilities very similar to this, wouldn’t you argue that their basic reason of unbalanced play would be completely invalid. Now i’m not saying give Sangheili spartan armor but make a Sangheili version or replacement to the spartan equivalent, like evade for Sangheili equivalent of spartan slides/thruster packs, small thruster boosts or even just the natural ability to clamber for the spartan clamber, perhaps a usable anti gravity pack that can hover for a couple of seconds for the spartan equivalent of stabilizers, invisibility for compensation of not having ground pound or something like that… There are so many ways the game could be balanced. Now to my other point… No one wants a 100% balanced game… There would be no variety in a game like that… Even all the weapons alone are unbalanced… So in the end the unbalanced game excuse is complete bull and it seems due to the LAZINESS of the company wanting to do the quickest way for everything. Now onto my second argument “It would take to long”. This excuse alone is just pathetic. You already have skins from the campaign, now all you would have to do is extract them into the multiplayer and possibly add more. Halo reach is a great example of this… Bungie used models from the campaign and just implemented them into multiplayer and look, almost everyone if not everyone LOVED that. Indeed there was not as much variety or customization as the Spartans had but at least it was something and it stuck to the lore. When we look at the armor 343 gave the elites for Halo 2 anniversary multiplayer, we can easily agree that you can tell it was rushed, there is almost no lore behind any of it besides the descriptions made to the armor and the overall textures and design of it look terrible. 343 industries could have easily just used armor from the campaign such as the standard minor armor, the “Heretic” faction armor and maybe even some other specialties like councilor and/or arbiter armor. So as I said before, it appears to be just the laziness of the company, wanting to push out rushed games that are not even fully done like Halo 5’s forge and Master Chief Collection broken multiplayer…. Now I was giving 343 the benefit of the doubt for Halo 4 but after the false advertisement of Halo 5, The over advertisement of it, The lack of body to the game overall both multiplayer and campaign, and the not so good graphics had me very disappointed… The in game graphics seemed just a little better than Halo 4 and don’t get me wrong, the cinematics were good, but not as good as I feel they could have been like blur studios was for Halo 2 Anniversary. Now i’m not gonna go into detail about how I feel about the campaign but overall 90% of the game seemed to be misdirection of advertised and really didn’t have a that wow factor I usually get with the other Halo’s… Indeed I liked the campaign but Halo is much more than its campaign. We love halo because of the lore, the multiplayer, the forge and all the other stuff halo has given to us throughout the years. Another thing I would like to mention is figure heads from 343 talk about THEIR vision for Halo 5… Last time I checked they also said they were gonna take advice and criticism from the community… Not a single thing I can see has been taken into the account from the community to the company… I really feel that 343 industries isn’t here to evolve the story and continue the legacy of Halo, but only to milk it dry until. Halo revolutionized First Person Shooters and gaming in general and sadly that legacy I feel is dying. I feel that Halo has kinda lost the wow factor to it. I once emailed Microsoft about how the relations of 343 Industries, Halo and Microsoft works and they stated that, “343 Industries is a third party company and they make every decision dealing with games they hold such as Halo even though we (Microsoft) parent 343 Industries we have almost no dealing with the way they produce and advertise their games. With this being said, if you wish to contact 343 Industries, please leave feedback on HaloWaypoint as there is no way to directly contact them." With all this said, 343 Industries has no excuses not only for the exclusion of Sangheili which is just one of many problems I feel they are creating or any other problems at all. The only community thing I have ever noticed 343 Industries ever take feedback from are relatively small and specialized feedback programs. Which even so, don’t give you much variety to give feedback, and its more so for specialized things like Arena feedback or Forge Feedback… After all of this I still and will always love Halo, but I feel its time the community the WHOLE community is given the real chance to convey advice, feedback or even a simple thank you or note to 343 Industries so that our beloved Halo does not become like any other shooter and stays its own amazing and revolutionizing universe. I have been a huge Halo fan for my almost my entire life now and the changes I have seen it go through and the path that I see it heading to I feel is only gonna bring ruin to the franchise. Everyone in the end has their own thoughts and feelings so what are your thoughts on this or any other issue you have had with any of the Halo games produced by 343 Industries so far?

Speaking as someone that used to play games workshop games for over 25yrs i need to let you know something. Ultimately these games are not ours, and never have been. We may feel we have ownership somehow because of the time and emotion we have invested but ultimatly we dont. 343 currently have the wheel on this and they are going to take halo in what ever direction they think is going to expand the francise and make microsoft money which i understand and agree with.
What us halo fan boys need to understand is that someday we may find ourselves not the target audience for these games and we will feel betrayed and angry, this is normal. WE change with time as well as a franchise because of the other games we play, lifestyle, etc and even burn out but feel we need to blame someone for this change and 343 are prime target for the hate.
Im returning to halo after a long hiatus to battlefield, i had a great time there but am stunned by how basic battlefront is. Im secretly afraid dice will make all battlefeld games dumbed down just so they can raise the player count and if they do i cant do anything but rage and vote with my feet. Hence im here for a bit and im loving the change of pace.
Anyway im drifting, ultimatly 343 have final say over what goes into their games because they have to do the hard work and it will be their knecks/jobs on the line if it all goes wrong.
I will confess OP i didnt read all your post, sry. I just wanted to point out that what 343 have done is the best of their ability, withe the time, and information available and we should be happy with what we got. They have shown they are listening and responding (thanks for the social) and are commited to improving the experience. As gamers we cant ask from more from developers…

Ya, 343 does have the “wheel” but we can at least voice our complaints and wants for future updates. We ask 343 to implement stuff because it may help diversify the game and bring new feature that will ultimately make the game better. I’m not saying everything that is asked for needs to be implemented, but most things that were in other halo games should be added back in. If elites make the game so unbalanced than just put them in custom games. SIMPLE! 343 has not done the best to their ability, we know 343 could add a human flying vehicle back in. We know 343 can add infection back in the game. We know 343 could add elites back in and still make the game-play fair! Don’t defend 343 for the lack of content. We, as fans of this game, should be allowed to criticize things and suggest ways to make the game better. Just because 343 has the final say doesn’t mean they ignore their fans. If you watched the live stream for the cartographer’s gift, you would see the chat spammed with 3 things: INFECTION, BR STARTS, AND MORE GAME MODES. These are things that would make the game significantly better but does 343 say anything about it? No, they don’t respond to the fans wishes. They could at least give us a yes or no answer. Last I’m not saying everything 343 has done is bad, but they need to at least pay attention to their fans. Who knows THEY MAY EVEN MAKE A GREATER PROFIT THAT WAY.

I feel like halo 5 had a lot of potential, but failed in the end. 343 down right ignored the feedback from people and have gone their own route. Elites were one of the coolest things in halo. “You have the option to be an alien? That’s amazing!” I said when I first played halo reach back in 2011. I don’t understand why 343 just doesn’t put the elites in custom games. The community would stop bugging them about elites and machinima community would grow as well. Two other complaints I have are: “Why doesn’t 343 give us more game modes and a damn human flying vehicle.” I mean seriously why do we not have a hornet or falcon back in halo? In halo 2 anniversary there’s a hornet, so why not in halo 5? It goes to show how lazy 343 really are.

Feel free to use the Elites thread.
