343 industries Listent !!!

Hello, my name is Pepsimen 85.

I live in Canada, precisely in Quebec where we speak french. I’m visiting your 343 industries’ forum in order to speak the mind of each francophone. We are disappointed that you don’t have any french section on your forum for the francophone community. Therefore, we were wondering if you could fix the situation.

Thank you to considerate our demand and thank you to 343 industry to keep up the Halo saga and make us live fantastic moments.

Well, the majority of players are English-Speaking. Not to mention that 343’s a Yankee company, so it’s all English. That does mean, however that those who don’t speak English are pushed to the side. Shame, really…

I know. What I hate is that it’s against the rules to post in a different language besides English.

The censor won’t hide bad words in other languages, this is why and it is WAY to much effort to add every bad word from every language.

If you don’t speak english, then you will need to use a text translator to post.

Oh hey! Montreal here! I wanted 343i to come to Montreal for Montreal comic con but I don’t think it’s going to happen.
Anyways, I can try to
Help if you need help posting!

If 343 does something for the French-speaking forum goers, then they’d have to do something for every other language, too.

> If 343 does something for the French-speaking forum goers, then they’d have to do something for every other language, too.

Correct, and that would mean the forum staff will have to moderate extra forums just because they are in a different language, I don’t think all of the mods speak French, so for now, it will be easier if forum goers would use a text translator to translate your posts into English.

I know that may not be what you want to hear, but most US based forums don’t bend to the demand of other languages.

ok, I understand, of course that it’s a good reason. I have a question, if someone volunteers creates an identical forum as Waypoint but translate it in french. Would it be possible to add the link of that forum directly on Waypoint?, Aslo that Waypoint doesn’t take care of that forum should desengage 343 industries with all of its responsibility

That would be a question taken up with an Admin.

The need to have the forum directly related/identical to Waypoint is in many ways unneeded, there are numerous other Halo forums on the web, some larger than Waypoint. If you found people willing to invest the time into creating a French Halo forum, even with a feature set less than that of Waypoint’s, I’m sure people here would be willing to bring attention to it. This is probably the easiest solution, though not the only one.

Actually it looks like a French Halo forum already exists: http://halo.fr/forums/, not sure if it’s any good though.

Thanks weird stealth for the idea to search for said forum.

Agreed, and there might already be a French Halo Forums up, you might have to ask around tho. CupidonModele03 might know, if he is truly the Yoyorast I think he is, then he might know of a French Halo Forums.

If they help the french why not help the germans too?

There is that French site… But it’s France, not Quebec.

Francophone is still Francophone.

We’re walking dangerous water boys. Keep my Quebecois out of my Parisians. Admittedly the language is surprisingly different between the two cultures.

  1. I’m a girl.

  2. I am French.

  3. I am aware of the differences however, at the very bottom of things, Francophone is Francophone which is what the issue at hand is - these forums are in English, not French.

I believe that is what the French call propriété

That’s like saying British people can’t understand Americans. Also op Google translate

Um, I hate to say it, but British people just don’t understand Americans 100% of the time, and some times we Americans can’t understand them. Also, you got to factor in Red Necks.

Are you saying in terms of speaking or typing?
