343 Industries: Hate and Anger

To be honest, I am getting rather frustrated with the lack of respect or even support for 343 Industries; any issues are warranted and professional feedback is necessary, for the developers to truly be realised; yet constant derivative aggression and hate, gets nothing done. A few mistakes and misdirections in the choices for gameplay or software errors, has change a potential company to a loathed asset.

It is time to actually understand that unforeseen hazards can happen and 343 Industries are trying to accomodate the fans with patchs and fixes. In my opinion, we should be thankful for 343 Industries for undertaking command of the Halo franchise, if Bungie continued to own Halo there would be no more products… games, books, comics, videos… as they were officially finished after releasing Halo: Reach; they are attempting to please fans with a quantity of products…

I myself believe that Halo can never be as populated, as in the days of Halo 3, due to very few first person shooters back then, yet even with the stumbles, 343 Industries has shown a fresh outlook on the Halo experience… attempting new things is a good sign… otherwise we’d be left with a stagnant and reskinned game with chrome graphics… and that to me seems pointless… so please show a little more professional respect toward them.

It’s not like they left us to the wolves, They Nerfed things in Halo 4, are giving us ODST remastered and gave us a Beta this early to specifically help them see what we want and what we don’t. So good.

Yeah they nerfed things in Halo 4 when it’s already a dead game, but not when it first came out and tons of people were complaining, about the classes, non descope mechanics, kill streaks… etc.

They need to listen to players right now in the beta so avoid making the same mistake like they did in Halo 4. And this time around they still have 11 months to do so.

But I agree with the OP, I doubt it will be as successful like the Halo 2-3 days. They didn’t actually do anything innovative this time around like they did in the Halo 2 with the amazing online feature for the original Xbox, custom games set ups, clans, a ranking system that promoted similar skill levels which was way beyond it’s time. Then Halo 3 took it a step further with the amazing forge and theater mode, something that was never done in any FPS game on console, another game that was well beyond it’s time. But what’s new in Halo 5 really… they just took all the abilities from Halo Reach/4 and gave us all of it at once. Yeah ground pound and all that jazz, it’s also in Destiny… But the old Halos didn’t follow trends, they started them. If you can’t start, trends and can only follow, then 343 gotta start listening.

Some people just love to hate

A lot of the complaints regarding the beta are so superfluous and superficial; oh you’ve changed the sound effects, oh you’ve added graphics here and there, oh they’ve added clambering/boosting/new mechanic ,oh it’s not the halo I remembered etc etc

newsflash; this is halo 5. This is not halo 2/3/whichever one is your favourite remastered. Want to play a game that is exactly like your favourite Halo? Play that one!

Do you know how hard it is to break new grounds in any industry? Very hard.

Halo 5 copying other games in terms of mechanics? Oh no, what a crime…

Oh and it’s an even bigger crime if they do invent something new to the game because then it’s ‘not halo’ anymore.

Finding the game too easy since last halo? Maybe -shock, horror- you got better?

Some people just need to stop and think before they post.

Meh, screw 343. There a -Yoink- company. I haven’t played a game yet that I think is any good. The only reason I come around was for my love of halo. The only reason there around is Microsofts money. Anything half enjoyable with there name on it has been stuff they contract out. Ex. Sabre, certain infinity, the company that did the terminals. Honestly I enjoyed the beta the first day or two. After that I play a few games now and turn the game off.
I think they did good with the decision to step back and make the playing field even with weapons in map and no load outs. The balance is just off though. With the two rehashed maps I am finding the game unbearable. I can’t put my finger on it.
Im just getting to old with the crazy fast gameplay. It maybe my own fault these days. I just do not enjoy the added speed. In everything you do. Sprint to death times. Even to inconsistencies. I had a game where I literally was shot twice from a br and died. I won’t even get started on grenades. There -Yoinking!- nukes. I without a word of a lie had a game where I died every single time from grenades. I can’t even slow my game down from the crazy spawn die spawn die repetition because I get killed from grenades when I try and play smart.
I am apparently absolutely terrible at this game. Now that people have had time to get good at the game I cannot out shoot anyone. I just don’t get it. If Im winning the fight I get killed by a second guy. It’s impossible to out play two people. Impossible. Unless you have a one hit kill weapon.

Man that was a lot of -Yoinking!-, sorry. Anyways I wish everyone luck. I personally wish 343 sold the rights to Halo to another company so I can see someone else’s take but I know that will never happen.

Happy gaming

The issue is not 343. The MCC was pushed to release, as all games these days undoubtedly are, by the publisher. It released in a broken state as that is deemed the more financially viable option. Sure you will get refunds but you’ll still ultimately make more money by hitting your scheduled date… as well as not actively losing money through development delays. It is wrong and we should be angry but I do not think 343 are to blame.

As for the hate directed to them about Halo 5. The game is going to change from the old Halo regardless of who is in charge. Any company is going to try and bring the franchise more in line with modern shooters simply because modern shooter sell.

I can understand people hating but in this instance I think the culprit is simply life.

I appreciate your enthusiasm for this game. I think 343 did right by the community by stepping back a bit and removing ordinance and putting equal starts back in the game.
That said I personally believe at this point that 343 on there own cannot make an enjoyable game for me. I will add that I’m still here because of my history with halo has made me love the franchise.
Anyway, I realize that there’s a lot of -Yoinking!- towards this game, again so I won’t push the subject.

I don’t disagree with you completely. It is life and that’s why I won’t push the subject of good and bad. It simply is what 343 likes themselves but more importantly what they think will make the most money.

343 is Microsoft no matter what angle you want to look at it. To me there the same entity simply because of why 343 was formed as a company. Either way though, as a consumer I feel there Halo product is not worth my hard earned money. What disappoints me, and inadvertently has me by nature " compare " 343s products to past Halos is because once upon a time I felt the earlier halos was worth my hard earned money. I had a lot less of it back then too.

Anyway, I do wish everyone else enjoyment.

So…breaking new ground is making your game more like Call of Duty?

I don’t think you idiots will ever understand. Halo is a subgenre in the FPS genre of games. The methodical movement, precision weapons, and map control were hallmarks of the brand.

343i adding things like Sprint, AAs, thrusters, what have you and making the game more like other games only damages the brand.

Never before have I seen a game company so completely focused on making a game that isn’t their game. Or a fanbase so intent on their next game having as little do do with its predecessors as possible.

Here, how about an example? The new Super Smash Bros WiiU game plays almost exactly like Smash 64. Yeah they added new items but the stock gameplay is exactly the same. DOZENS of great fighting games came out between Smash 64 and Smash 4. But Nintendo never decided, “Hey lets add finishing moves and completely change the damage mechanics!” They added some superficial stuff but realized that Smash was a subgenre of fighting games with distinct things that the fans expected.

the game plays absolutely nothing like call of duty.

The point about smash bros is the greatest point I have heard yet…that’s what they should have done kept the game play the same from h3 and given us something superficial and the MAJORITY of the fans would still be around… Instead they DESTROYED HALO starting with bungies reach BS

It actually plays extremely similar. You move around the map EXACTLY like COD with sprint, clamber, and thruster. The ranking League System is very similar. The scoping is exactly the same. And with Halo 4 they added perks, care packages, took weapons off map, made more large maps, added loadouts and weapon skins. LMFAO COME ON MAN OPEN YOUR EYES

I mean if you can’t see that 343 is trying to make halo more like COD then you are deaf dumb and blind.

I absolutely agree, this isn’t even halo it’s a futuristic shooter mimicking cod with the thrusters, ads and other ridiculous mechanics that dont belong in halo.

Dude check your dates, this thread is over a year old. Let it stay dead.
