I feel sorry for 343 industries. I am aware there are ex bungie people in 343 industries.
I have been reading alot of halo related material to my friend today and i noticed that 343 industires is under alot of pressure. 343 has taken the licence of halo because bungie is now on other projects now like Destiny. But what i want to get to is what 343 will do with the franchise in the future. I like intelligent stories in games which is why i like to know alot about them. I also am passionate about the halo franchise, and hope 343 will improve.
Bungie made the classic Halo games until after halo reach. Playing these games you will be filled with mystery. What i mean by this is bungie kept much of Halo’s story a mystery such as the forerunners, precursors and other story related material. What does this have to do with 343 being under alot of pressure?
Let me explain!
343 has been given the licence to a game were the details of the halo story has not really been explained by bungie in the previous games. if you want to know about the story of halo watch halo legends or go on halo nation wiki site.
I feel sorry for 343 because they have been given basically a blank sheet of paper. They went into making halo 4 with alot of die-hard fans ready to rip them because of the multiplayer quality and the rest of the game. 343 when making halo 4 decided to tell the story which bungie did not explain in the original halo’s directly. This puts a huge amount of pressure and expectations on 343.
They did make a effort on halo 4, i know many of you hated the multiplayer but lets talk about the campaign. The campaign was very complicated because no one really knew about the forerunners and other story related content in the game. This left me playing with players which were overwhelmed by this complicated and big story. Lets face it the campaign would not grab casual halo players. You had to go beyond the game to understand what was going on. After researching about the halo story i started to appreciate what 343 did in the halo 4 campaign. They explained what most people never knew previously which is a ballsy move. They brought us the real origins of Halo and expanded on it.
I appreciate 343 for this and hope they get out of this complication.

I think 343 is doing a good job so far. I love halo 5, I can’t stop playing it. Halo 4 was the first game I bought for my 360 and I really liked it and it holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I’m supporting 343 but there’s only one thing I don’t like about 343. It seems they’re trying to hard to change Halo to how they want it and they are really trying to stand out from Bungie. They want to show that Halo’s theirs now. While it’s not a bad thing, it seems they’re really trying to hard to show Halo’s theirs now and that attitude seems to show through in their games.
Can we please stop saying that you needed to go beyond the game to understand Halo 4’s story? The forerunner trilogy is not necessary to understand what was going on. The only thing that was is Kilo-5 and that’s only because 343 never gave MC a scene where he would ask “whats up with the covenant?” which he should have had since he obviously would have questions.

If you got bad service at a restaurant, would you start shouting obscenities calling for the whole staff to be fired and saying how he restaurant should be shut down? If you bought a bike at a store and got home to find the chain missing from the box, would you storm the store, curse out of the staff and say how they are all incompetent fools? I doubt it because anytime someone does that in real life very few people will side with such a person. Yet on the Internet where there is no accountability there is no filter. And yet when I stumble in the MCC Forums, that is most of what I see and they are the loudest and have no problem shouting in groups. How does that save Halo?

It doesn’t save Halo, and definitely not in their eyes. Unfortunately to the apparent and very loud multiplayer community over there, they think that’s all that matters. I can bet all of them think they would have the “best” idea and future “fixes” for Halo. I couldn’t imagine the mess of a game and series would become if put into fans’ hands lol! It’s also funny to see from all gaming communities.
And ya, people love to say the mean things because they can hide behind their monitor the good old “internet” excuses really.

No, Bungie had the idea of Halo 4 in mind but they went with Reach instead.
This has nothing to do with what “shoes they have to fill”. I liked Halo 4, but all they had to do was make/release a game in the MCC, that was… wait for it… functional. That’s all I’m asking. I didn’t need anything more. I was under the crazy assumption that when I spent my money on this game, it would work. So yes, they are under a lot of pressure, to make the game they released, actually work. Someday I look forward to replaying Halo 3.
The fact that they released ADDITIONAL CONTENT before fixing these problems is absolutely disgusting. STOP 343. Fix the issues. I repeat: FIX THE ISSUES. Then and only then, will you regain my support.
Don’t confuse me with a random kid that will buy Halo 5 because I’m a kid who needs to be cool. Know me for what I am, a conscience consumer that will take his money elsewhere. At worst, buy a used copy of the next game you make.
All I’m asking is for you to make the game I purchased functional.
