Now the Halo community are divided. Maybe the problem is because some persons (the most part) hate 343’s work, but we need to recognize that they do their best (i want to believe that) so say here the things that you like/appreciate of the 343 work; just for eliminate all the hate that now the community have
Well, I love Seat Switching very much.
I like a number of things about their games.
-
They made the battle rifle look cool. - They added ADS in halo 5 - They added forerunner weapons - They removed the armor abilities and replaced them with universal abilities and powerups - They have both the BR and the DMR. - They brought back the CE Magnum - They made the Infinity - Regenerating shields and health (as opposed to Reach)I dislike a number of things about their games
-
Their music is mediocre - Their story is mediocre. - Spartan IVs - Commander Palmer - Pretty much everything about the story - They removed couch co-op - The Halo 3 Scorpion was awesome - Not getting to use Forerunner weapons against the Flood - I really hate the story -

yes you have reason but i can’t understand the problem with spartans IV.
Every series has its good times and bad. True fans will stick around, no matter how dark or dire things get. There’s always light at the end of the tunnel. True fans will be the one’s to help everyone else board the hype train once again

I don’t know about that. I don’t think there is such a thing as a “true fan”, in terms of there being a threshold of adoration one must meet to be considered such. But I do think there is a difference between a fan and a fanboy. I also think being a fan doesn’t mean that you have to like 100% of every Halo game, and it doesn’t mean that there aren’t things that can be done to make you lose interest. Halo 5 bored me to the point where I don’t play anymore. But that doesn’t mean I’m not a fan of Halo. It just means I’m not blindly loving the franchise. I can be a fan and still point out faults, hope for better, and question whether I like the changes to the franchise.

Fair point. I love Halo and have since CE. I am NOT a fan of Halo 5 in any way, shape, or form. The multiplayer drives me nuts and campaign is okay but I continue to support Halo 5 and 343 Industries. I don’t agree with what was done, and is continuing to be done, in Halo 5 but will support them regardless. I will continue to voice my honest opinion though. I won’t sugar coat anything just to suck up.
Using “true fan” was a poor choice of words.

That’s where we disagree: the “supporting them regardless” part. I’m not expecting Halo 6 to be a perfect game, but at the same time I want it to be better than average, more than “meh”. That’s how I feel about Halo 5; it’s just ok, it’s “meh”. It’s not terrible, broken, or anything too bad. But I don’t want to play average games. So I hope Halo 6 will have that above average feel to it that previous Halos did. There isn’t one thing that will make or break it for me, like sprint or microtransactions. I just want a good, complete gaming experience out of Halo 6. But if Halo 6 feels average to me, then I can’t in good faith say that I’ll continue to support 343i. If I did, then how could I realistically expect things to get better?
It’s like Destiny. I played a good bit of Destiny 1 but it got too repetitive and controversial, despite the content updates. And despite me being a fan of Bungie’s work in the past, I didn’t want to just support Destiny 2 without first seeing if it significantly improved upon Destiny 1. Turns out it was largely more of the same, and not worth buying, imo. I feel like I made a bigger statement not forking over the $60 minimum for D2 than if I had bought it and just complained about it in the forums. Of course, I still maintain interest in Bungie and the state of the Destiny franchise, I’ll try the beta for D3stiny if it gets made, but I won’t give them more money until I know the next game will interest me. And if Halo 6 fails to interest me, I’ll still stay interested in the franchise and 343i, play the Halo 7 beta to see where the game goes, but I won’t support them with that sweet $$.
Tl;dr you can be a fan while still being a careful, considerate gamer.
My usual contributions to these “let’s show some positivity for 343”-type threads consist of:
- Seat switching, of course - Grunt comedy. They did an excellent job with their dialog and the Grunt mech is just awesome - Giving infinite frag grenades to the person sitting in the Gungoose passenger seat was pure genius
They made the right choice by bringing MLG back.

I think the problem with them (at least for me) is that they are now just…common. For example, the previous Spartans are cool because their origin is unique. I’s were prototypes I think, II’s like chief were hand-picked and kidnapped and not even all of them survived the process, III’s I think are similar but a little more legit (idk about I’s and III’s much tbh) but IV’s? Dime a dozen, they no longer seem like a unique soldier because they’re so many of them.
Also did you see the ending of Halo 4? Chief towers over Palmer, I’m assuming all previous versions are shaq sized and IV’s are just tiny.

I feel like they’re trying to downplay the Spartan II and IIIs.

Br already looked cool, armor abilities weren’t really removed they were just renamed, and imo ads doesn’t belong in halo

H2BR didn’t look very cool to me. It was an unnatural combination of soft curves and hard lines. 343 fixed it, making it all hard lines, as well as making it look a little more high-tech. Armor abilities were pretty much removed. Instead of being something you picked as your loadout, then recharged on a meter, they are now either universal or powerups you pick up in-game. ADS in Halo is very much a preference thing, but I’ve always wanted it, and I was very pleased when they added it in H5.
I think 343s done a pretty good job only thing is stories are a bit meh but that’s because the whole forerunners and promethians thing

A wise decision on Destiny 2 very wise. I let hype take the wheel and I’m out 60 dollars lol.

Sorry you weren’t happy with your purchase.

Honestly h5 campaign was dogcrap and a insult to the series and it’s fans. Multiplayer is alright minus spartan charge.
I think they made an amazing job at ranked arena.
I often get an adrinaline rush playing it bacause every single duel is so intense and you are so evenly matched with the person you are dueling.

I don’t hate their work, I just don’t really like what they did with a lot of Halo 5. I think Halo 4 was great, and I really liked Halo 5 when I first got it out the box, but the more I played it, the more I felt it wasn’t for me.
I game relatively regularly, but I’m a pretty casual player. I don’t have much time for it, so I pretty much only ever used to play whatever the latest Halo was, because I want a top line story, great characters, and sweet combination of the two. Halo 5 was the first in the series (bought them all ASAP after release) where it’s felt like it wasn’t about that, but was about tapping into the newness of gaming: micro-payments and e-Sports.
I’m not mad at 343 for that - there’s no country for old men. Plus I recognise a fantastic accomplishment when I see one, and Halo 5 is undoubtedly that. But as a Halo FAN, it’s the first game that’s made me take the disc and switch it up.
