Yes this is what 343 needs to do. Pull in cod player and halo players and make a fun halo multiplayer thats fun for everyone but yet still keep it halo so i never have to hear that agurement again. But eveyone sayin that they should make it like halo 1. But i would hate that. I have told my cod friends hardcore cod fans about anniverary and beta hoppers and they said they are going to get it if the multiplayer stays the way i describe to them. Bleed through, no bloom dmrs, AA’s, and a 3 head shot automatic pistol. That appeals to the cod group and im the biggest halo fan out there and that appeals to me. But reach never did but with real halo maps and a few adjustments it does. I hope beta hoppers is succesful.

Call of Duty may be a multi-platform game, but it’s mostly played on the 360. PS3 players don’t get the bonus of having the maps a whole month before other platforms do. In response, EA just announced that the maps for Battlefield will be available for the PS3 a week before other platforms - so I’m thinking more of them will move to Battlefield for that, and over all it’s just the better game to begin with. People on 360 will be moving over too, so the COD population will slowly be depleting. It’s just a theory, but I have a feeling Halo 4 will have the top-spot when it releases because people will want to welcome more games into their library.

Halo 4 should not be anything like COD though!

in my opinion, HALO and probebly anything 343 has to offer will kick CoD’s -Yoink-

as with the Battlefeild series, they have a good chance

off-topic, do you guy know how to get the spellcheck working on these fourms?

> We just have to earn our spot, it’s as simple as that. And you do that by trying harder and making better stuff

It may not mean much to those that want to be popular or rich, but I am happy with whatever spot Halo has on the charts. It’s the quality of my experience, not the quantity of others.

> O’Connor concluded: “There’s a lot of stuff that COD does beautifully that we should do better, and that should always be everyone’s stance when they see a new game.”

If he is referring to set-up, UI and how the game is very approachable, ok I can agree. And the use of 600p in ways that can fool newer gamers in feeling it’s “real.” That too.
But if it’s in how the game engine runs, I don’t spy with my little eye anything that he sees better.

Is Mr. O’Connor sure he’s not Canadian instead of Scottish? Some Newfoundlander relatives perhaps? Unlike BF3 and EA, who show hints of fear behind their words toward CoD and Activision, Frank’s words hold the calmness of a person who is either very crazy, or very confident.

Doesn’t this mean that anything call of duty can do halo can do better?

This article is old news, first off.

Secondly, why must everything be a competition? If anything, this article shows that there is NO competition between Halo and CoD, at least from a developers standpoint. People play the game they want to play, there shouldn’t be competition. Stop trying to start an argument.

I was looking for that article.

I think that if 343 tries too hard to outdo CoD, their games will only decrease in quality. They should understand what makes for a good Halo game and execute it. CoD is too big and popular now. Just focus on pleasing the Halo fans that are left.

I concur. DICE tried really hard to greatly increase their BF3 against MW3, but the overall quality for it’s multiplayer is lacking in the demo/beta. Especially the xbox version. Laggy as hell, framerate tears, rendering issues. MW3 migh be the product of a slowly declining series but IW atleast knows what their doing.

If 343 wants to draw in more fans, they need to focus on it being Halo vs Halo.
