343 inconsistency with trailer and the game on SOS

So in the Halo 5 trailer where Locke is talking to the Arbiter about looking for the Master Chief, the Arbiter elites are wearing Halo 2 elite armor that is colored mostly red, with a bit of yellow, and they are even carrying plasma rifles. But in the game, the Swords of Sanghelios (SOS) are wearing Halo 4 elite armor, and there are no plasma rifles.

343 inconsistency?

Cinematic trailers aren’t always canon. Look at the “Scanned” trailer for Halo 4; cool trailer, but didn’t really happen.

Yet 343 inconsistency. I know trailers won’t be 100% exactly like the game. Similar to game demos. The scanned trailer made no sense. Heck, Master Chief didn’t even get captured.

It’s not something that 343i does exclusively. Bungie did it with Halo 2 and 3 trailers. Again, the trailers aren’t supposed to be canon.

I suppose so. That one scene in a Halo 2 trailer were Chief jumps from his ghost and fights like 10 elites with only an smg and one plasma grenade was cool but not in the game at all. That scene in a Halo 3 trailer where Master Chief “unconscious” and “captured” by a brute chieftain and he then pulls out a plasma grenade, and suddenly “wakes up” like he was pretending to be unconscious. I think it was called the “believe” trailer. Awesome but yet not in the game.
