Who ever is in charge of the design of covenant(Mostly the banshee) And the U.N.S.C(Mostly the mongoose ) can you please take into thought that the halo 4s banshee and mongoose look exactly like the ones from halo reach which is before halo CE , halo 2 and halo 3 but they do not look like the ones from halo 3 which is the last encounter before halo 4 , time wise . They also are more “future tech” than reach . I’m not saying to make replicas of the banshee/mongoose from halo 3 but to look at them and make your own interpretation on them and bring it to life in your own style kinda like a car that Changes from the 70’s to 2013 model it looks different but it’s still a mustang at heart if you catch my drift .
I’m sure 343i will probably never see this , but if you can get the chance to recommend it to them please do .

Reach takes place about a month before 3 ends, so which one we saw in-game most recently is irrelevant since all of the games took place in such a short time frame. Canonically, both models of Banshee appear side by side throughout the events that take place in all of the games. Reach’s Mongoose is also the same model as 3’s, it was just updated with better graphics for Reach.
343i used the Reach models (there is no difference between the two) due to time constraints, as Reach’s models are the most up to date from a graphical standpoint. Ideally, we would see both models of Banshee in the games (same goes for the Beam Rifle, Jackals, Grunts, Plasma Rifle/Repeater/Storm, etc.), but that’s not too likely due to the fact that it would take more time and resources that could be better spent in other places.
Besides technical, just because something showed up in Reach does not make it ‘old’. Reach and the original trilogy take place within a year or so.
Reach was the center of UNSC military power and it was established that the Covenant Fleet that attacked Reach was also top of the line.
So with that in mind many of the reach models we see for both human and Covenant could easily be the ‘newer’ models while the rest of the UNSC/Covenant(in the other games) had not updated yet. But by the time we get to Halo 4 they have managed to upgrade.
It’s not a big deal compared to half the stuff the community wants 343i to do . Also it was a recommendation to the person or people that design and make the vehicles come to life in game

I will never understand how some people can prefer the Banshee model with twig wings and a cockpit so silly the pilot’s legs are hanging out.

While I love both looks equally, it’s easy to understand why some people may prefer the older Banshee design over the new one. Due to its “twig wings”, it looks far more alien than the newer, more aerodynamic, Banshee model. You look at it, and you think to yourself “well that thing can’t possibly fly”, which gives off the idea that Covenant technology is far more advanced than anything we can create.
The same goes for the old Warthog design vs. the new one. The old Warthog had each wheel be independant from the rest of the vehicle, each with their own little engine (or so it seems), with its own unique suspension. The new Warthog, however, uses a far more dated and “modern” suspension system, with a visible engine that connects the two wheels together. It’s not as futuristic, and arguably, not as cool.

That and the Reach/4 banshee has been made to look like a flying purple whale in comparison to the sleek and slim banshee from the trilogy. Which really doesn’t help the idea that the banshee is a quick and maneuverable attack craft. I couldn’t care less if they brought both of them back, so long as an explanation for the bulkier one is made.

How is the Reach model bulkier exactly? I don’t see it, and neither do I see the old model as sleek and slim.
