343, I'm not getting DLC until...

…the horrible split-screen performance is fixed. My girlfriend and I have put countless hours into Halo 3 and Reach and were both looking forward to Halo 4 only to find the 2nd map we played online (Complex - no surprise) was dropping so many frames it was unplayable.

I was all set to get the Season Warpass thing as I thought it was worth the extra money considering the time and enjoyment we get out of playing online together but as long as these performance issues remain with no communication from 343 I doubt we will even put many hours into the normal maps.

Please fix the laggy maps or reduce graphical detail for splitscreen - I would rather it looks like Reach or Halo 3 if it meant a consistent smooth gameplay, no one is expecting splitscreen to look as good as single player. Or at the very least have it remove maps like Complex from the vote options if splitscreen people are present and let us know if the DLC maps have actually been tested properly.

Please reply or comment to keep this topic high if you agree and would like some communication (or better yet a fix) on this troubling development in the Halo series.

This happens to all games that reach the limits of what the console can handle. Rendering everything multiple times in that detail is going to slow the framrate. There’s nothing they can do other than lowering the textures even more and making it look like crap.

I am not looking for excuses - if they couldn’t deliver on split screen performance then they shouldn’t say it supports it on the box. Every Halo game released has supported 4 way split screen with excellent performance and to find this one doesn’t is a surprise and shouldn’t have happened.

As I said above - no one expects split screen to look as good, but it should be smooth and fun. If it can’t be then don’t implement it. I know not everyone plays split screen but for many people this is a big reason we get Halo!

It’s simple.

Damn right. I miss Bungie so much.

Well, I found the campaign to be great fun (although I miss the comic relief grunts), but I think they pushed it too far in multiplayer - even with just one local player the big team games “seem” to have lower frame rate then previous games. In multiplayer framerate>prettiness!

The campaign was great but that’s not the reason why we all bought this game. The campaign lasts 8-10 hours. Put it to 20 if you plan to beat legendary.

And COUNTLESS hours in matchmaking.

Go home split screen Complex, you’re drunk.
