The flood joined forces with the flood and became flood Bosses to destroy humanity, killed locke and spartan groups, and only the masterchief can save humanity by navigating the flood filled territory to obtain the key to saving cortana held by the new banished leader that is a codec sealed in his armor.

To fans : like to play the best campaign in history of halo
I think your understanding of what would make a great or terrible Halo game is way too simplistic and shallow. By that same logic, the idea of having Batman and Superman fight would be amazing, but in reality…
I am hoping to see the flood return, only if 343 can pull their return off well. Plus, we are still waiting to see who the harbinger is. My guess is the Didact.

Id like to hope this is correct and it is the didact! He was written out of the story far to early! And id like it to be him or someone else controling cortana or responsible for corrupting her either way i want her back to normal and by chiefs side!

It would make sense that he was controlling her, or at least controlling one of the versions of her. Regardless, Halo five opened up a path for her to be fully healed.
If the flood do not make it into the campaign or DLC, I’d like to see them return in the Battle Royale mode (if one exists). They would be perfect for the outside of the circle as it closes in.

I dont really see how the flood being in a battle royal would work, unless it was a type of infection

instead of a timer on the outter ring closing…its a giant swarm of flood? not sure if that’s a specific version of BR or not. Obviously the swarm would be large enough that you cannot survive for long outside the outter ring…you could even transform into a flood form and continue playing to try to catch spartans as the ring shrinks…or even just becoming an infected spartan like the traditional game-type.

Actually, they could do something a bit different and do like a warzone free for all. It has the rules of warzone such as you can spawn vehicles and weapons, and random enemy group spawn around the map as the game progresses and the ring is like you said, an endless horde of flood.
(Guy thinks a campaign enemy type means anything next to MP)

The Harbinger is Cortana. She’s recruited the Banished as an army of enforcers.

Wow, spoilers much! Hot take, the Didact is controlling evil Cortana, who is actually a corrupted version of the pieces of Cortana that separated at the end of H4.

You guys do realize why they took the flood out right. Hard to get a teen rating with zombies walking around looking all dead and dismembered. This is not 343s call either. Microsoft calls this shot
Boy, that sounds legitimately awful. Between the singling out of Locke specifically to die for no good reason, contradictory ideas like humanity dying and Chief saving humanity at the same time, to curing Cortana in a bid for fan service, it sounds like a horrible idea.
I have no stake in what you’re putting forth but I will say something against what I see a lot of on this forum.
The flood are a key component to halo gameplay and made the games better for it.
I don’t think they’ve ever been utilised well, however i would say they were best done in CE. The flip from a more considered approach where you picked engagements to having something that swarmed you made the gameplay more 3-dimensional…it’s just a shame the levels were made to be monotonous, though we saw a glimpse of what it could be on TB and Keyes. I think if they were to take a page out of left 4 dead’s book, a game which imo has the best swarm style combat they could get a proper inclusion into the game.
Another spinoff game is in need.
I’m not completely opposed to the Banished, or even a Flood outbreak, but the events of H5 must remain relevant in Infinite. It’s past time 343i committed to something, but they might as well start with The Created.
