343, If you do these 2 things we'd be happy

Hey 343,
Doubt you’ll read this, but it’s worth a try.
I am SUPER excited about H4, and I think you’ve been working really hard on something special for us.
That said there’s something small that could be a problem down the road, so I hope you’ll see this post and take it into consideration.

I’m talking about DLC.
Let me start by saying the Defiant map pack is probably my favorite map pack of ANY HALO GAME. It was 3 great maps together, which practically never happens.
That said, while they’re some of my favorite maps in Reach they’re also the ones I know least. I’ve gotten to know the Anniversary maps quite well (I mean I knew most of them from before, but you get it) because there were some many hoppers designated specifically for them. Defiant? Not so much.
Here’s where my first suggestion comes in: Halo 2 & Halo 3 allowed players to buy the map packs and play them to death and half a year later they became free for everyone. I know this obviously doesn’t make as much money, but it’s a great way to keep the community united and happy.
If I paid for maps I get them early and later I’ll crush newbs on them.
If I wait and stay dedicated to playing I’ll eventually get rewarded for that.

Also, those of us who buy the maps WILL GET TO PLAY THEM because people we get matched with will have them too.

This leads me into my second hope:
Different achievements.
People are obviously oppinionated about Bungie’s achievements, but say what you want they were fair. If you had the skill and determination anyone could get them.
Enter the Defiant & Anniversary achievements.
Enter achievements like “All Alone.”
Have I been the Last Man Standing in Zombies? Yes, countless times.
But not on a Defiant Map… I haven’t even PLAYED zombies on a Defiant map.
By making the achievements for the DLC SUPER SPECIFIC (In gametype AND map) and making them on maps most people don’t have it makes them next to impossible to get.
When you add achievements with DLC please make them about gametype OR map… Not both.

Realistically, I LOVE Halo.
I’ve been onboard from the beginning and I’ll stay with it as long as you guys are putting the TLC in, which you obviously are.
It would just be greatly appreciated if you listened to the fans in the little things like this.
Thanks.

please don’t speak for the entire community. This is something YOU want, no necessarily everyone else.

DLC pricing is overall decided by microsoft. Any multiplayer content consisting of 3 or more maps and achievements is usually a minimum of 800 microsoft points. If they include achievements, then they are not allowed to be made free. It may be reduced, but almost never goes free.

As for achievements, that’s pretty much luck of the draw. Some are easy, while others are near impossible. there’s not usually more than a few people who work on achievements in games(in fact, many companies spend more time/resources working on easter eggs than achievements).
