343 I want to love you!

343 I’m doing my best to love you. I want to hold you up, I want to support you guys, I want to brag to CoD fanboys that Halo devs are better than CoD devs. I want to say that 343 has made Halo better and that they deserve the series. I want to be on your side. I want you and the community to work hand-in-hand. I want you guys to be the perfect example of devs, because I like you. I really like Frank and Kiki and Kevin and alot of the other guys who have stepped forward into the cameras and articles.

But right now it seems like you don’t care about the communities. Just as alot of the staff have been a part of Halo, we have too and it feels like we aren’t respected by you. Right here on your forums we have fathers and heads of entire communities doing their best to reach out to you. We are doing our best right now to create a dialogue with you. Yes their are alot of negative morons but there are alot of people being civil and respectful. PLEASE, respond to us! PLEASE, show us that you really do care! Because right now you’re hurting us and hurting the franchise we ALL love so very much.

What we need you guys to do is acknowledge our feedback. While we are angry and upset, if we even get ONE SENTENCE from Frank saying he has heard us then alot of us will calm down. We aren’t trying to start a fight, or wrestle control from you guys, or paint you as the enemy. We just want the tools our communities need to survive.

Otherwise, we’ll go away. Friendships will end, parties and memories will be lost, when I go to my friends house for a night of gaming it won’t be Halo on the screens. I want it to be Halo. I want to kill my friends in all of the varieties customs afford us. I want to compete in MLG. I want to call in binary rifles and disintegrate that camping noobs on Ragnarok. I want to convince my CoD friends that Halo is better because I can forge whatever we want to play.

343 I want to love you and I want to love Halo4. So please, work with us to make this the best FPS of all time.

Hopefully somebody reads this before it fades into the archives of these forums.

I’ve read this and I ahve to say: the community can sue some things back however, if we remade the same halo with just graphcis as diffrence, it will get stale very quickly. or is there soemthing I missed that you where trying to say.

I’m not trying to say “Bring back classic Halo,” I’m trying to say bring back the tools we need for each of the communities to survive. Classic Halo is dead, it had its time but it’s over. If Halo3 had released this year it would have been rejected by gamers and critics alike for being too simple.

But that doesn’t mean we should lose the tools and ideas present in past Halos. I’m really loving Halo4, the gamemodes are fun and different and have real staying power. But if the communities that drive a game die because 343 removed the tools they rely upon Halo won’t last.

For example:

Forge:
-no powerups
-no fine placement tool
-no flat canvas
-not enough air space

Customs:
-flood in general
-lack of race
-missing important game modes

Speed Running:
-no theater
-no timer
-no score system

Halo Stat tracking websites:
-missing data input from H4 that past halos have made readily available

MLG:
-cannot limit or control loadouts
-cannot change important parts of game types

Grifball:
-no playlist

Community:
-no action sack
-no “fun,” relaxing playlists
-no team snipers
-rotating playlists force us away from our favorites
-no BTB objectives

So many communities are literally dying because Halo4 simply does not have these things. If 343 would just make one post on the forum, or say something in a weekly update, then alot of these communities would end this freak out-mode their in.

As another example I wanted to build a Wraith race gametype and map because in H4 they are fast and alittle agile. I can just imagine 4 wraiths boosting around corners and slamming each other into walls but that’s just not possible.

He’s trying to say that he wants 343 to at the very least acknowledge the issues a large portion of the community have with the game. There’s a lot of things I really like about Halo 4, but some of the subtractions are a little horrifying. Good original post.

To me it does seem like they are really not showing love for a lot of the community, the proof is in the pudding. We no longer have proper customizable custom games, there are no larger forge maps for large scale forgers, the forge really is a step down from Reach, the playlist categorization is terrible and leaves many different sides of the community disheartened (No Team Doubles, No Team Objective, No Grifball, No BTB Objective which should be included within the BTB playlist, No Team Snipers, No Action Sack, No Assault for Objective)

Thanks that’s exactly the point I’m trying to get at. I was alittle long winded but sometimes that’s what it takes to prove a point.

I cry alittle inside that there is not a BTB objective. I’ve been playing that since PC CE on CTF blood gulch and it has always been my favorite.

And as you said “the proof is in the pudding.” 343 can talk and make vid docs all they want about how much they love Halo but we really need them to step up and prove it.

While I agree that 343 needs to express more clarity, bs angel has taken time to post on this forum on several occasions. They definitely need more community figures who actually talk about the game, though.

This was just a list I made in one minute for some examples, you don’t have to be so prickly about it.

I should have the “Why can’t we be friends” permanently on my clipboard. Anyway, I don’t think he was being prickly, he was just informing you of what he knows, and emphasizing his opinions/specifying things.

Also, I want to add that you can’t disable sprint, and WHY AREN’T THERE WEAPON SPAWNS WHY CAN’T WE HAVE CLASSIC SLAYER :NERD RAGE:

ugh I don’t want to make this into a issue thread, more of a plea for 343 to become involved.

And I feel you on the classic playlist. They should really make a competitive slayer playlist that includes loadouts, radar, and on map weapon spawns. I think that would be very popular.
