The rank you see is only for show. You can’t “derank” but your MMR will go down as you lose, causing you to match with players more your level. You can see the effect this is having by looking at your carnage report and selecting the match stats detailed view. Once in the detailed view, scroll through to see other players ranks.

I’ve been doing that, and I’m getting paired with platinum ranked players… Is there any documentation on MMR?
Your MMR will go down if you keep losing, even if your ‘visible rank’ (which is only a n indicator and isn’t used to determine who you’re matched with) stays at plat.
IF you lose about 10 in a row you’ll start seeing golds in your games, etc… stick with it your MMR will get to where it needs to be you probably just had an anomaly in your placement games that put you higher than you should have been.

YOu’ll notice they are all plat 1. This is because they can derank below that either. You will also notice there is people less than your displayed rank in the games as well.

Intentional free bump for OP while I tell you that bumping is against the rules. Don’t do it.
I feel the same way. I was put into diamond and the other players are much better than me, i just find it hard to play against them. Either that or the damn aiming issues.
