My level isn’t high enough on new Waypoint to post links yet, but some new concept art shows the Chief + the Weapon + Cortana and I have to ask WHY WE DID NOT GET ABSOLUTELY SHREDDED CORTANA IN-GAME?!

He’s referring to the concept art on Artstation by Ruan JIA.
In their concept art, Cortana looks, lean but muscular and has a really cool looking suit. Honestly looks much cooler and more sci fi, a Huge improvement over her Halo 5 look, and much more interesting then her ( decond ) but boring look for Infinite.There is also an “emo” looking Cortana in a forerunner looking suit that looks cool, and some other AMAZING pieces that show Cortana on a kinda of Forerunner throne type thing.
The implied story in these artworks looks WAYYYYYY more interesting than the actually “Conclusion” we got of just Cortana talking through her info fragments. ( Boring )
343 should just put their artists in charge of storytelling from now on, or at least have their artists input contributing to the story more because the Writing/Story for Infinite was frankly not very exciting, there werent cool plot twists, it was just a “safe” run-of-the-mill approach to the game.
Honestly, the Concept Art Ideas in Infinite Concept art looks 10,000 better than the actual game we got. For people that haven’t seen the artworks yet, there are:
Sequences with Chief Flying onto the ring from space with other spartans
Sections with AWESOME looking forerunner cities, floating pillars with orbs and red glowing lights
locations with rolling hills and environments that look like a combination of Ireland/Scotland/Iceland
Locations with huge, cool looking wild alien creatures that looks like a Prehistoric Swamp/Rainforest
A Battle between the crashed guardian and a huge Banished Army
A bunch of different concept arts featuring a DOZEN or So Biomes
Masterchief fighting a 30 foot tall armored Brute-like creature bristling with weapons
PNW Biome with MUCHHHH more variety ( Coastal regions, better layout of the islands, giant forerunner walls, better looking atmospheric look and thicker, fuller clouds ) in the landscape, with better lighting, contrast and use of color values
More Vehicles, namely a Purple covenant-type walker that is shooting down a Banished Frigate
Yeah but let’s be realistic. We can’t expect 343 to actually put all that cool stuff in the game. That would require years of work, a lot of employees, and a very large budget.

They didn’t want a mommy dom Cortana, they wanted a ditzy child like sub Cortana to appeal to that crowd
Cortana turned into a b like Halsey, and Weapon was basically just born. Give her time to learn and have more emotional breakdowns, plus AI degrading, and her personality won’t stay happy-go-lucky for long. We might get a Halo 4 Cortana Weapon someday, without the nice model
Ah found the concept art you were referring to. Yeah I like them flipping it around where Cortana is usually this small pixie character so when she cuts loose they make her big instead. Kind of a reference to Halo CE when she’s in the Halo Control Room.
To be fair, the flashbacks do show a fair bit of Cortana as this all powerful entity. More than Halo 5 actually. We’re mostly fighting the Warden Eternal until the final mission in that. It’s just a shame they use that to set up how much of a badass Atriox and his Banished are. Between that and “more dangerous than the Flood” it’s a bit off. I mean, I will have my vengeance against that Brute; but still.

Ah also saw the alternate Cortana armour as well.
Reminds me of that species in Endless Space 2 who are digital beings in armour as well. Makes sense. I mean in Halo 5 when she dismisses the Warden Eternal his shoulder does move so she was a physical hardlight construct there and not a Hologram.
Seeing what they did with 6, imagine what they can do with 10 years.

By the way, that first image of the Guardian is actually in the Halo Infinite Artbook at the vehicles section; not even the “cutting room floor” part of the book.

I recently seen the concept art for that, and it looks amazing. There’s one in particular where it looks like she’s sending off some kind of Forerunner automaton which really makes it look like the evil Cortana thing could’ve worked really well. If the writing was better it could’ve been amazing.
