This was confirmed almost a year ago, no beta will be held outside the company.

u mean 2 months right that is where it stands just about little under 3 months to go till the game comes out.I think the reach beta made people want to play the game more i know it did that for me.
Almost immediately after announced, 343i said no public beta. It would be pointless now anyways, with the game coming out in 2 1/2 months anyways.
Yeah, the game is basically finished now anyway.

Games go gold sometimes long before their actually release, Halo 4 will be one of those games, expect it to go gold late August/early September.

No, it just means that the game will be ready and finished earlier. The release date will remain the same.

That extra time goes towards having the game certified and manufactured, so no.

Short answer is no.
Longish answer is that gold doesn’t mean completely finished. It means the developers are happy with it, they will then send it to the publishers who will test it and check it for all kinds of things. The duration of this process varies for a number of reasons but if the publisher isn’t happy, they’ll send it back to the developer for tweaking.
After this it is sent to be replicated on discs. Within a few days these are sent of to be checked to ensure that no anomalies have been inadvertently introduced into the disc or the code. When this is finished the discs go into mass production and these are then sent to another plant to be packaged. Once the completed package comes off of the production line, it is shipped to stores.
Now in a rare (read, barely even possible) cases, a game has gone from Gold to release on gaming store shelves within a week. It almost always takes a bit more than a month.
