We the community know very well by now that you do read the forum posts, and you do respond to our feedback. (and I certainly applaud you for it)
However, there’s one topic that we’ve yet to hear addressed by anyone, and it’s getting to the point that, even if no action is taken, at the very least there should be a response, a comment, some acknowledgement of any kind really.
That issue is Warzone farming.
I know! I know! Touchy subject. I expect a swarm of comments from both sides to either act like Warzone farming is destroying all that is Halo 5, whilst the other side calls the complaints whining that detracts from Halo 5’s illustrious competitive spirit. But that’s really why I’m saying this in the first place. It’s quite polarizing, and it’s clearly important to enough people considering how many threads about it you’ve certainly seen over the past months. All I’m asking is that the subject be broached. Whether in a community update, a tweet, or anywhere else that makes sense. This is too large an issue to appear quietly as a small adjustment in some future patch notes. (Thought you’d sneak one by us when you fixed vehicle physics in Hammerstorm, didn’t you? And yes, we greatly appreciate it)
The first sentence made me puke. They haven’t “listened,” this was all planned out this way smh.
You cant stop Warzone farming unless you make a lonewolves playlist…you just cant. Get 1000 or destroy the core. It sucks when you are the one losing, but lets be honest, who wouldnt go for the free kills and rp/xp.
I dont think anyone really appreciates fixed vehicle physics.
Farming has always been a thing in Halo games not matter what people say -Yoink- Happens the game pits you against Higher bracket of skilled players and many Cry they are being Farmed. I’d say Deal with it there isn’t a clear cut answer unless you want 343 to actually Sort out how they match players and parties up in game. The issue isn’t large in fact it more vocal than other issues that are currently plaguing the game. Farming isn’t destroying Halo 5 if people had incentives to actually play objective half the time you’d see a little less of it happening, for most part it a community problem not the game.

By removing a kills based commendation in an objective gametype. Implement a weekly warzone req pack that is earned by destroying 10 cores. It would fix itself by focusing the playerbase on something other than kills.
Edit:I am referring to Achilles commendations above.

Clearly you don’t read the community updates. They’ve definitely changed things that they didn’t originally intend to, namely playlist updates, balance fixes in both Arena and Warzone, and others.
You’re not exactly thinking outside the box on that one are you? There are numerous ways to address farming besides limiting party size. You can alter some mechanics to discourage or prevent early-game base locking, you can introduce new match-balancing mechanics that are triggered by score difference or other occurrences (for example, one team suddenly having EIGHT TANKS) that might indicate a lopsided match, (and no matter what mode, multiplayer is always the most fun when you have closer matches) and you can improve matchmaking algorithms to increase the number of close games.
Well obviously I do, and HaloFollower and a few others noted it as a flaw when discussing Warzone in the weeks after launch. And of course that’s just one example. Another is that Hammerstorm made the railgun a hitscan weapon, and made your own fireteam appear with green icons while other friendlies remained blue, so you can more easily identify your friends in-game.
No solution is foolproof, but if they sped up base point accumulation once three bases are captured, the game would end quicker. This would require minimal tinkering on their part.

is that not the objective in WZ to destroy the enemy core?

I haven’t heard that solution yet that actually sounds great. Great idea!

Thanks, it came to me the last time I was being spawn killed.
in all honesty, I don’t take Warzone nearly as seriously as I do Arena. To me the point of WZ is to mass accelerate your REQ point income to quickly get all the unlockables in the game, and I think that’s cool. And you get a good amt of points in every WZ game win or lose. Even more so with WZ Assault, because they pay out just as well and the games are usually much faster. I don’t have issues with groups of ppl who farm WZ. It’s not really competitive so I don’t care if my team’s getting stomped. I use WZ and now Fiesta to advance commendations within my company faster and I can do that regardless of the outcome of the game because of my abilities. I agree seeing EIGHT tanks at once against you is a gigantic WTF moment, but if the other team is able to roll out EIGHT TANKS against you, odds are you’re already getting stomped and there’s no hope of making a comeback. If a game ever gets to that point I save my best REQ’s for another game and start using the crappier ones to just advance commendations. If you take WZ more seriously than I do I understand your frustration, but IMHO that simply means you need to find a legit team of players to roll with. I’m pretty sure if you get farmed as often as you say you do, you’ll be able to find a farming team and wreck face.

I don’t. I go for the win.
Game last night, we had all 3 bases, and doing a good job of holding them, I drove a Sword Ghost into their undefended core and destroyed it. The object is to get 1000 points from regular gameplay, or destroying the core if that’s an option.

Yes, it is - destroy the core if you can. I’ve been farmed at least 3 times. It’s annoying, and I try to make the most of it, but when a team CAN destroy your core but doesn’t, then you’re just stuck wasting your time. I still play a buttload of Warzone, but if there was a subtle way to discourage it, I’d be for it.
Also, this really was a non-issue until that stupid Achilles came out. No more kill-based crap, please. Keep Warzone fun and crazy, not a death-fest.
They won’t fix this and really how could they? It would not be easy, they would have to restrict things on the players such as maybe how many Banshees a team can have in a match.
