Pretty simple idea… If you watch this video and click to 6:36 you will see how 343 Play Tests Halo 5 and what they’ve actually removed from the game completely by taking Split screen out of Halo. Notice the fun the team is having being able to sit down and play in the same room. How can they test the game like this and with all their friends in the same room laughing and screaming together and take that option away from us? Maybe they should do play tests in isolation and see what is more fun.Split screen made Halo what it is today and removing it is the biggest crime they’ve committed against the franchise. What are your thoughts?
Guess it’s not that simple of an idea. The atmosphere of being able to play in the same room together, yell callouts, and laugh face to face is what they are experiencing while play testing. Now that there is no split screen that atmosphere is gone.

The point isn’t about them playing split screen it’s about them all playing in the same room and enjoying Halo together, not alone in their own room. I don’t think many people will be playing on 4 tvs with 4 xbox ones and 4 copies of the game so basically the fun they are having together won’t happen for the majority of people who buy the game.

Not the point my friend… The point is they are all playing together in the same room which is a luxury most people won’t be able to afford because of there lack of Split Screen.

So you’re telling me you wouldn’t like to have friends over and play together? and Xbox live is better than having your friends right there with you? Obviously that’s not what you stated but it sure seems like it’s just a nod to the unfortunate reality of people only having digital friends now, which is quite sad considering that people are ok with that.
Its not that hypocritical. People play with their friends using mics and have just as much fun. It’s how the majority of people play Halo.
As a long time Halo split screen player myself I think people need to simply get over it.
Is it sad that split screen is gone?- Yes
Will it ruin the potential for Halo 5 to be awesome?- No
Is it possible future Halos might have split screen once they can devise a way to have it run properly while still maintaining all the other features?- Perhaps
They have stated why they couldn’t put split screen in, they don’t do these things just to be jerks. In an ideal world they would make a game that was able to please everyone, unfortunately that is not possible.
Either learn to live with it or don’t buy the game.

It’s not 343’s fault that most people aren’t dev teams with the ability to hold LAN parties.
Except they weren’t using split-screen, they were playing on separate Xboxes. You could have the same fun they’re having if you bought another Xbox, which I understand is a privilege most of us can’t afford, but they obviously could “afford” it and used that to their advantage.
Oh no! People who’re making a game for people to enjoy are having fun with other human beings while play testing a game that they find fun? Burn them at the stake! Game devs shouldn’t be allowed to have fun with each other! They aren’t making the game that I want so they need to be fired! Bring back Bungie! I miss the old days of my experience being compromised because it was fun in 2005!

Well they’re not going to ship everyone across the world to playtest Halo 5. They’re in the studio together so they’re going to playtest it in the studio. You call them hypocrites because they’re having fun while playtesting for our benefit? What is this thread? haha
If you want to play halo 5 with friends in the same room, you have two options, so get over it. 1: hand off the controller between friends, or buy an Xbox or have them bring theirs over, those are the only two ways I know of for halo 5.
