Please tell me , how do you make a game that divides the entire community into people that like the game and people that hate it ?
I mean seriously I have never seen a video game community being divided like this. It’s your freakin fan base!!!

Then you evidently weren’t around on Bungie.net since Halo 3. You act as though this community has only recently been divided, it hasn’t.
Sprint man. It’s steadily killing Halo. The maps are so bad thanks to Sprint.
they’ve got to get away from it for Halo6. We need small arena maps back for real Halo. They’ve got to stop the madness.
i don’t think liking halo 5 is actually the issue… it’s that they got handed a franchise that everyone grew to love, then started making changes… so far the are 0-2 on releasing a decent game… so regardless of what halo 5 turns out like, people are going to hate on them, just for halo 4, and MCC.

Better tell people who enjoy BTB and its big maps that they don’t like real Halo. C’mon man, there isn’t a “real” Halo.
The community used to be split with the AR v BR debate back in Halo 3.
but now there’s a lot more controversial topics.
i personally think the AR v BR, Elitst and Cod disputes need to stop; Some people play halo for competition, some like messing around on BTB. Pro Golfers arent dissing people for being “casuals”. And the same both ways. You dont see people on the driving range making fun of the pros for being “try hard elitists”
I think it’s more of a case where people can never be satisfied.
343 executes plan A to satisfy the A group, the B’s and C’s are not happy.
They execute plan A + B, C’s and some A’s and B’s won’t be happy etc etc.
I for one love all the games (except ODST since I’ve never played it). Yes 343 have done mistakes especially with the MCC but they can’t just think of the core fans here. They’re trying to achieve balance. Pleasing the core fans and easing new players into the Halo franchise.
Come on people, get behind them since they’re the ones tasked with the continuity of Halo.
You want to criticise? Be constructive. Hate comments won’t do any good.
Unfortunately though I don’t think there will be a Halo game that will really unite the Halo community again.
there will always be splits in communities when a new game in a series is coming out or some update comes out that changes something. people probably got upset about the changes from h1 to h2 it may not have been such a big divide but i’m sure some people didn’t like it.
I will never understand 343’s logic of going in this generic FPS direction instead of going back to normal Halo multiplayer mechanics. I mean Halo 3 just 5 or so years ago was up there at the top of the charts with Call of Duty. The game was hugely successful. Then Bungie made Reach which in my opinion they had ulterior motives possibly trying to sabotage Halo so their game wouldn’t have as much competiion. But 343 should have just acted like Reach never existed and went back to halo CE to Halo 3 gameplay.
343 has these visions of grandeur where they think they will make a game that steals all of Call of Duty’s fans and takes over the top spot but it is never going to happen. Instead they have split the fanbase and Halo will possibly never be the4 same,.
ALSo, I know people try to say Halo’s fanbase has always been like this but that isn’t true. Ever since halo Reach is when fans are really getting mad and then Halo 4 was so bad a lot of people have jumped ship forever. This is nothing like some CE fanboys getting upset over Halo 2

Then you don’t know what you are talking about. For goodness sake, the community tried to get the Playlist Designer at Bungie fired because of his choices in Halo 3.

He’s talking about close quarters maps. You also seem to forget that there was big maps in Halo 2 and 3, and that there are other ways to design big BTB maps and get around them fast enough without sprint. A competent game design where players have will placed man cannons, catwalks, portals, etc… shouldn’t suffer from such a problem. It’s a bigger challenge for the developer, though.
