Seeing how H5 isn’t going so well, it’s not even in the top 12 of Xbox live most played on a Saturday night, it’s time to take Halo back to its roots. This new format clearly isn’t working so I will layout how H6 should go… CAMPAIGN: It has to be mainly played as Master Chief first and for most! It’s ok to have other Spartans in the game but Master Chief needs the most played time. You also may want to get away from the “team” based campaign. It just plays so much better as just Master Chief kicking butt. Lastly don’t recycle a boss battle over and over and over again. Fight the warden seven time who dumb idea was that? Also get a better writer for the script while you are at it. Get who ever made the cut scenes for H2A to make then for H6 because they were better than what H5 had that is for sure. Give us the mechanics of H2A. Just the one fast base movement and that’s it. No more of these gimmicks of clamber, slide, boost etc.
Multiplayer: as I stated above mechanics of H2A, playlist and ranking based on or set up just like H3.
Armor customization based off of Reach. Weapon balance of H5(best thing about H5 IMO). Aiming and hit boxes of H5. Graphics of H2A. A good file share system like H3 had. Let’s drop this “req” system. All it is is basically a ordinance drop modified. Keep warzone but make it more random. Bosses spawn in the same locations, why can’t they be random?
These are all just some basic stuff that made Halo frickin awesome that you guys have managed to ruin over the years. The player population doesn’t lie. If they want gimmicks they play destiny and COD.
The hit boxes are WAAY to big in Halo 5. There is also too much bullet magnetism. I don’t agree with this part

There’s not too much bullet magnetism, at least you have to have the reticle on your target to hit them. I’m looking at you Halo 4!
I was having a discussion with a friend about a multiplayer only Halo game and a campaign/coop game. It was just for fun.

They aren’t near as bad as other titles. But yeah less bullet magnetism forgot to add that.

Absolutely. Using thrusters to evade and get into cover is a completely useless tactic because of the magnetism. It can be like getting shot through the wall sometimes.

What do you expect when the game mechanics allow players to alter both the speed and direction of their movement in a split second? Spartan charge, slide, thrust, sprint, and ground pound… 343 didn’t just arbitrarily alter the hit boxes, auto aim, and bullet mag. They altered them because the average gamer would become nauseous trying to play Halo 5 with say Halo 2’s aiming mechanics and hit reg properties.
Consider how disorienting it would be to be sprinting away from an attacker, thrusting around a corner, and have auto-aim jerk your reticle (in other words your neck) because another enemy came into your line of sight mid thrust.
I’ve read comments on these forums for a long time. All of you have been warned and told about what these mechanics would do to Halo. Most of you totally ignored those warnings, and a good number flat-out refused to listen to any of them at all. These “spartan ability” mechanics change everything. Not just map size and design. Everything.

Thats latency it seems like magnetism but it ain’t.
Wish I could ask people from 343 how does it feel to drive a great franchise off a cliff
Master chief should’ve been the last true spartan. There needs to be another super soldier program… Like a zues soldier or something. It seems like everyone is a spartan nowadays.
Wish I could play some classic Halo but 343 has MCC so botched the only playlist that works for me is action sack and yeah that is a fun playlist but I want some H2 or H2A and can’t find games in anything else.

Shots fired, and they’re quite accurate.
Halo 5’s very basic movement mechanics (as in the strafe acceleration, base speed, etc) feel pretty solid. Not sure how H2A stacks up.
Halo 5 has too much aim assist. H2A isn’t much better.
Not all of Halo 5’s mechanics are bad. I could see slide potentially working.
Weapon Sandbox…I’m tired of every Halo taking inspiration from Halo 2.
H2A’s Art Style…eh…it’s not my favorite but it’s not bad. Kind of a blend of new and old.
SmartScope isn’t a terrible idea depending on which weapon its on.

It’s sad but true. What is supposed to be the flagship exclusive is not even in the top twelve most played on Xbox live… sad… smh

H2A had LOADS of potential and would have been a way better jumping off point for H5…way better than H4s that’s for sure.

SmartScope could have been a good addition to Halo if it had been reserved for and exclusive to automatics.
Having said that, there always ought to be a way to use binoculars though too.

I don’t mind smart scope. It’s essentially zoom IMO. It makes more weapons actually useful and there is nothing wrong with that.
I would agree OP, Halo 5 is all but scuttled at this point, looking forward is the best way to really point this franchise in the right direction. All the points you previously made I think are absolutely correct. Halo 5 is a good game, but not a good Halo. Taking the gameplay back to what worked and what made it popular will work.
As for the campaign I really think it should follow in Halo CE’s footsteps. Feel ancient, dark, mysterious, sometimes lonely, couple that with a good orchestral and choral soundtrack. Halo 5’s campaign was an absolute joke, it literally screams that it was hastily rewritten. Take this back to the chief and blue team, focus on them, make it emotional, make it compelling.
Multiplayer definitely shouldn’t try and “innovate” on gameplay, start innovating on features instead. Stop catering to the people who don’t care anything about this franchise and look at what made Halo (3) so insanely popular: the community. Give us a browser for custom game lobbies, a file browser, your top picks for forge maps, something that would compel the community to stay in this franchise.
For the love of god come up with community features on day one. In this day of social media there is no excuse, and will keep people around playing this game.
To sum it all up:
A well developed, content rich Halo with a compelling campaign and a multiplayer developed around community features…
