And seeing as 343 has Bravo ,this guy, other MLG players, Josh Menke, and Quinn DelHoyo all being lead by the creator of republic commando and the un-released star wars first assault. I think halo xb1 will be fine.

Yes, Ghostayame was a professional Halo player that participated in numerous MLG events, and is by definition, a Halo “Pro”.
What they should do, in my opinion, is pick the top 30 or 50 people from this forum and put them in a private chat and then just brainstorm ideas and talk for a week.

Putting a bunch of monkeys in a room doesn’t really create Shakespeare, you know?
I LOVE the hire. Ghost is a great guy, very smart, and has done a ton for the competitive community.
Also, he went to Penn State. That’s always a plus. WE ARE!
He is a tester like dersky and neighbor as said on a Q&A
> He is a tester like dersky and neighbor as said on a Q&A
Which keeps me just as skeptical to Halo 5 as I always have been.

Same. But really, where else could he have been hired? He has no game development/programming skills that I know of. As long as they really listen to their testers on gameplay things and take their criticisms to heart, I think that this could work out well. I assume that they plan to listen to them some at least. Why else would you really choose to hire professional player to be testers. These guys have been advocating for changes in the game for a while now.
He said in the Q & A he cant go into details on his position, although he will be on the Design Team. A tester is probable, but he did single handily make the Team Throwdown Playlist settings, so I think he may have a quite larger role.

You shouldn’t make fun of the writers for Call of Duty games man.
But no seriously, I think there is some merit to having a little community brainstorm. Can’t exactly hurt, 343i obviously isn’t bound to using anything they suggest. Or they can at least look as some of the better constructed threads and go from there.

Where did you get that he is on the design team?
> Q.) With that said, can you dive into what position you’ll have at 343 Industries yet? (via Moa)

Well, as I previously stated in my last response, I will be working with the test team along with “Neighbor” and “Dersky.” 343 Industries has numerous teams within its company: games, services, test, community to name a few. So I will be privileged enough to work on one of these various teams!
Fantastic hire, although I’m disappointed he won’t play a bigger role. Perhaps in the future, he does have a computer science degree, I think. Unless he didn’t graduate, but I think he did.

CoD’s story was actually pretty solid up till MW3. Seriously, they killed off the main character before the story was even finished and killed him in a non-heroic way.
There’s more than enough ideas on this forum for 343i to look at. The only thing I can think of that would help them more would be if someone condensed the best of them into 1 thread.

They must have updated, earlier he said he couldnt say his position yet. And he said there were two sides, the community/production side and the design team. He said he would be on the Design team which play testers are apart of.
He also said that his main goal while working with 343i is to uphold the competitive tradition that Halo has been endorsing from the beginning. However, some say it may be too late for him to make a difference to Halo Xbox One. So i’d say Halo 6 is when there will be a difference.
They do have 9 months, more than enough time to do changes if necessary. They just need to do much more extensive testing this time and they will now that they are a part of the team.

Its never too late, he made Halo 4 decently competitive months after it came out. This is probably 10-11 months prior to release, he has ample amount of time to help push it in the right direction. They wouldn’t have have hired him otherwise, because lets be honest, competitive play is really all he brings to the table. Thats a good thing though.

We’ll see what the future holds, i guess.

That makes no sense. Why would 343i go out of their way to hire professional competitive players without the intention of making the game more competitive?
