343 Has To Crack Down On Mods

Ok let me first start off and say that modding actually sucks it’s just like hacking and yes you can get banned. However on Halo 4 I see way to much of this. I’m sure everyone agrees with me that it’s bad to mod and hack while in Halo 4 especially online if you’re gonna get caught by displaying it in public.

I’ve been watching videos on Youtube and from one video onNAME REMOVED, #2 NAME REMOVED it is a mod. Of course that was a mod because Youtube has videos and it is confirmed to be a mod. Also there’s still those famous Headless Spartans. Those are mods too. Now they’re in Custom Games and people aren’t gonna get caught when modding on there? Wtf. I’m just wondering if 343 is cracking down on these mods going on in Halo 4. Sure they are funny but the point is its wrong and it can get you banned if you mod in Halo 4 online. I won’t name names on Youtube that has posted videos on mods going on I’m sure people can just find them easily. However I’m just wondering if 343 is even watching people doing this on Halo 4 while they are online to ban these people from ruining Halo 4. Reach never had mods like this and if they were caught, they would get banned right away and their rank reset.

My question for 343 is how are they gonna crack down on this. The only way to catch people doing this is go on Youtube. It seems Halo 4 looks easy for people to mod and not get caught unless it’s up on Youtube however this could continue and we may see more weird things going on in Halo 4.

Unless they’re entering matchmaking with mods, then I don’t see what the issue is…

Nothing wrong with Modding unless they’re entering matchmaking with it…

Where the correct terminology would then be ‘Hacking’ instead of ‘Modding’.

> Unless they’re entering matchmaking with mods, then I don’t see what the issue is…

Agreed.

> Unless they’re entering matchmaking with mods, then I don’t see what the issue is…

EXACTLY

I’ve played modded games in customs in Reach (I didn’t own them, it was a download).

> Unless they’re entering matchmaking with mods, then I don’t see what the issue is…

They are entering Matchmaking. The Headless Spartans are in SWAT because they aren’t affected by headshots.

Thats when it needs to be taken down and fixed. Maybe the TU has a fix for it.

How can you say that custom game modds should be banned? They dont hurt ANYONE, it doesn’t affect you in ANY way, why so mad?

EDIT: People who mod their armor will get banned, it’s not like a TU will stop people from changing some numbers in hex editor programs. But be so sure, 343 can and will bann people who do it.

I don’t see any issues with modded gametypes. They’re not doing any harm, they’re just fun to mess around with. And with the lack of custom game options, I’m not surprised that a lot more people are creating these.

Modding in matchmaking and modding your profile however, does need to be cracked down on.

Even though the Custom Games community is nearly extinct, some people still need to take a stand and do something about it. In this case: Mods.

I was expecting to see some sort of instakill speedhack or something when you posted that link. Instead I saw a giant flood teabagging the ground.

Is that seriously what’s getting your -Yoink!- in a bunch?

Please leave the custom gametypes mods alone, the only fun part left in this game…

We’ll find out however this topic is indeed about MP since they are appearing there more frequently. Still not sure about Custom Games but playing online with the mods on is like asking for being banned on XBL. I have played modded maps as well like on H3 with Halo Wars map which was fun killing the Elites and Spartans XD But the problem is they are coming online including MP and basically show it off to the public. Plus Youtube has people there posting to download the modded stuff there I’m sure 343 wouldn’t be too happy about that.

Microsoft deals with Terms of Service and Code of Conduct violations such as hacking and modding, not 343.

Best course of action is to file a complaint via Xbox Live and to PM bs angel here with the player who’s cheating.

I personally know a guy who plays with a modded controller, e.g. allows him to go fully automatic with the BR. The headless hacks have been around for a couple of months but haven’t seen one recently b/c they get reported pretty quickly.

TBH, the biggest factor that defines the difference in game play between the players is bandwidth. I primarily play SWAT and the players with insanely fast connections will always have the upper hand. When I play at work with 100MB download and 100MB upload it’s unreal how much of difference this makes.

In matchmaking yes hackers need to be punished. But custom games, that is what your link was too, no way. They are just a good bit of harmless fun and honestly custom games needs the mods, otherwise they are severely lacking in h4.

What’s wrong with mods in Custom Games?

As long as they don’t mod in Matchmaking, I’m fine with it. I love playing on modded maps and gametypes. So much fun
