343 has officially ruined Halo for me personally

343i has completely ruined my Xbox One expirence and Halo for me.

I bought an Xbox One thinking… Yes, now I can finally play some classic Halo because Halo 3 on the 360 was reaching its last days in my opinion, and Halo 3 was one of my favorites.

I get home, plug in the Xbox One and Halo gets fully installed… I have tried to play almost everyday since and it’s honestly been unbearable… I’m so sick of them promoting HCS, I’m sorry if this offends you but Halo DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND MLG/HCS…

those types of modes and events obviously played a major role through the years, there’s no doubt about it, but seriously when they promote HCS with Halo the Master Chief Collection in its current state. It makes me feel like I’m officially done with this company.

This game ruined my impression of the Xbox One because they are old halo games getting released on “next gen” and it just doesn’t work at all…

But it yet I can go play Halo 3 just fine on the 360.

The 360 is old as hell and works a million times better then the Xbox One in most aspects.

This is clearly a rant on what I am going through with my Halo experience.

im so disappointed in 343i a lot of my friends got tired of waiting sold the game and are now addicted to Destiny and I don’t blame them.

I’m not purchasing Halo 5 at release and I will not purchase it untill I have it confirmed that it is a fully functional game… But this is it, if H5 is a flop and it doesn’t work… I know I’m just one Halo fan but I will be done with this crap. It is absolutely unprofessional.

I’m honestly shocked that Bungie hasn’t stepped in and helped, even tho they don’t have to, it’s just shocking to me to see a major game like Halo slowly die off.

I know the whole argument well I paid for a product I should get what I paid for etc. But if 343i did indeed ruin Halo for you then you have your mind in the wrong place. You Still have Halo from before 343i on your 360. You can still play it on your 360 and so long as xbox live is usable on the 360 you can play Reach and Halo 3. You don’t need an xbox one to play the pre-343 halos. Sadly you can’t play h2 online but that is nothing new at all, you haven’t been able to play on that for many years now, well except of on the PC if you still have that itch.

It is fine that you are disappointed in 343i and the MCC and maybe even H4, but is that really excuse enough to allow them to ruin Halo for you? You still have the old Halo to revert back to, why allow this failure to ruin your vision of it. Bungie is not the Bungie of old they have their own project and most likely don’t care about Halo. Now I know I cannot speak for individuals, but as a business model Halo is not their job to worry about anymore, and the failure of Halo for 343 is a possible gain for them for their new franchise.

I personally have had a real good experience with post Bungie Halo overall, yes there have been some bad hiccups, but I have not allowed that to ruin my vision of my favorite universe. To be honest, in my opinion 343i has failed on MP side mostly so far, but have far succeeded the story and lore of the universe than Bungie ever did, and it has made me love Halo all the more. But the MP failures has not taken away my old love for the old MP I enjoyed for thousands of hours. I personally am hopeful (maybe to a fault, but still hopeful) that H5 will succeed. The success might come at a cost to a minority population, but I feel it will succeed. This is basically 343i’s chance to mediate the damages of the MCC and the MP failure of H4 and learn from their mistakes and move forward. I think they will take the right steps, despite the opinions of some communities including: anti-sprint and pro-sprint, casual and competitive and in-between.

“This game ruined my impression of the Xbox One because they are old halo games getting released on “next gen” and it just doesn’t work at all…” Please don’t let the MCC ruin this for you, there are many great games on the Xbox One that are definitely worth your time and represent next gen, yet this is your choice.
My personal list would be:
The telltale games
Borderlands Handsome Collection,
Bf4, Hardline, Destiny (yes even this)
Child of Light, among other non-mainstream games
the list goes on…

Thanks for replying, I defintely feel a lot more chilled out now taking a step back and thinking about it more… I agree on the lore and story, 343i has done incredible with that aspect of Halo, it’s just the multiplayer is such a vital part of every Halo game.

And to a lot of Halo fans this was the best thing to have ever been heard of at the time pre-release…

I just sincerely hope that 343i truly cares for its fans and Halo MP, Halo 5 was like a breath of fresh air when I played the Beta and I do have high hopes for it. I just really really hope 343i pulls through and releases the best Halo to date with H5.

I guess all all of this Halo MCC mess just really shocked me, it caught me off guard to see Halo released the way it was.

I agree that 343 screwed up with Halo MCC but you shouldn’t totally give up on them they weren’t the only ones who screwed up last year they excelled on the story and lore way better than Bungie ever did and I played the Beta and it felt more like halo to me than halo 4 did and Hell The beta did better Matchmaking than MCC did and its only a Beta so I have High Hopes Halo 5 is 343i’s Chance to repair the damage Halo MCC did but MCC has gotten better in recent months but i still was shocked by the shape it was in when it released last year I dont think 343 wants Halo 5 to end up like how MCC did i think they are taking it seriously I have high hopes for this game that is Halo 5 It has a very promising Campaign based on what we have been told so far and The multiplayer Beta was Fun i miss the Beta I cant wait for them to show off More Multiplayer at E3 and likely something that will be something like a new improved Spartan Ops or Firefight’s Return plus Hopefully Forge I have High Hopes for Halo 5 Fingers Crossed

I dont know what majority of the population did, but i traded in my 360 to get a better deal on xb1.

so now i just cant play some times period.

atleast i could still get some games in on 360 but i cant even do that now.

and wtf 90% of things you could do on 360 really quickly take a while on xb1.

Have you tried hard resetting your Xbox, even unplugging the power cord from the back for a few seconds and then plug it back in and relaunching the game? Also some say to open your NAT, if you don’t know how you can YouTube how too. I also recommend a hard wire internet connection and don’t use the WiFi. These Xbox ones are way more finicky than the Xbox 360. But I hard reset my Xbox every day and experience very little issues.

They are putting a lot of effort in the Halo 5 MP, as you can see in the spring. Halo 5 will be fit for competition like the 2/3 was, and not likethe COD copy the 4 was… Just be patient.

And no, 343i didn’t ruined halo AT ALL. Thanks to them i finally bought a console to follow Halo. I played a lot the 1/2 on pc, but I never bought a console to play Reach/ODST/3 (i played the story on my friends console and that’s all). Thanks to them, and all the work they are doing on the lore, I finally read more than half of the books, follow the story from very close, looking at all terminals and Halo related story, And I can play all Halo games (just waiting Reach and ODST) on the XboxOne…

So they just revived Halo for me.

Many of us feel your exact pain. A series we grew up with for 10+ years, now not even enjoyable to even talk about let alone try to play. It has been getting better with each update but still, just the worst release in history. Thus I wont be buying H5 at launch. I wont even consider getting H5 unless I hear that its working incredibly well including BTB. Which as of right now we know nothing about BTB at all. As poor as BTB works in TMCC and is only 14 players, there isn’t much hope for H5 btb.

And you guys don’t understand that putting 4 games in 1 and connecting together 4 different multiplayer builds is not a easy thing at all… And if I’m right there are 4 dev studio that worked on MCC to make it possible… MCC Is like the biggest fan service thing that a gaming company ever did. It was just released maybe 4 months to fast and without a proper beta test. But come on, yes the multiplayer WAS broken for 2/3 months but you had all the other content working perfectly…

Now on Halo 5 they are doing beta, and the last beta was already working very well. It’s a singe game so it probably will work from day one.

If you consider it to be the worst release in history, you haven’t played many other multiplayer game…

> If you want to know a secret, this isn’t the first time Microsoft has killed a major franchise.

And you serious? … How can you say Halo is killed? I just see a massive Hype with all those thing that I see on the news about Hunt The Truth, Hunt the Signal and all the announcement from Halo5… You will see how dead is the franchise at E3…

I am 38 and I have been playing since Atari and have been a multi console gamer. TMCC is THE worst mp launch in history. Especially on this scale. Its not just 1 messed up game, its 4. So literally, there is no other mp launch in history ever that had 4 broken mp games in one. Not 1 game ever has launched with this many mp problems.

As I said it has improved, but it will go down in history as the worst mp launch ever in history. Unless another game releases 4 games in one with all the 4 mp broken.

You are missing the point… A professional game developing company (343i) is now currently working on the Halo franchise and this happens to the MCC at launch, it doesn’t matter how you try to rationalize it or justify it, what’s done is done and in a lot of halo fans eyes 343i has shown that they are not a good company.

At at this point they have a few more MCC update attempts and then it’s all up to H5. I just hope they really capitalize and make H5 the best Halo game to date.
