why would they do this?
I’m pretty sure we’ve all noticed this. 343i has said that stuff has happened to the Chief and Cortana since we last saw them. Now it’s a bit of a stretch for them to have gotten onto another ship that was cut in half but I expect we’ll find that there is some sort of reason for the different design.
Copy right issues?

Well… it was… kinda… getting blown up. Plus 343 has stated that the teaser is non-cannon as of yet, it’s not finalized.

Microsoft owns the rights to Halo. The only time anything was changed due to POSSIBLE copyright issues was the removal of the Marathon logo as it belongs to Bungie.

Your proubly are right the trailer is non-canon but we have to wait till halo 4 comes out
The ship has been drifting through space for several years, and it was already heavily damaged. In those years, some of the damaged sections, maybe a really big part, could have drifted away from the ship.
As said above, the ship is on fire and exploding. That can alter the appearence, or fire is clouding the rest of the ship so we can’t see it.
As said above, the trailer is a teaser, barely anything is finilized and completely canonical. It was made to get us hyped.
Or maybe Cortana found a way to disconnect or jettison the damaged sections for various reasons. Maybe so it wouldn’t slow the ship down when they found something, make the ship “smaller” so its less likely to crash, for boredom, to minimize the crash radius if or when the ship was to crash, etc.
Does it really matter?
Its not like you’re going to look at it for your whole life anyway, seriously its just a different game company doing new artistic stuff which may look better than other developers, it isn’t much of a big deal.
People noticed this at E3, and it has already been discussed.

Im sorry if i made a copy thread i didnt know there was a different thread because ive been on this forum all the time i havent seen a different thread and i thought i would make a thread.
I think we will have to wait till halo 4 comes to see the designs have change or not.
I dont mind they changed it im just showing the aft has changed in the trailer
I don’t think that the ship in the Concept art trailer is the fud. It looks pretty much intact…
I’m actually glad that they gave it a slightly different design, and I hope they do the same with most of the things in the game since it give a nice breath of fresh air, while keeping things still in Halo. This way, the experience is new and exciting!
Of course, we already know that John, Cortana and Warthog look different, so don’t go expecting everything else to have stayed exactly the same.
