I believe all the complaints from the community on just how poorly executed Halo Infinite’s launch and subsequent 8 months have been made 343 choose to ignore the forums. I only ever see changes being made when they’re posted on Reddit and ANY feedback we get is posted on Twitter. I miss the days when BS Angel actually interacted with the community. Now we just shout into our echo chamber of disgust with very little or no acknowledgement from the company responsible for Halo’s dismal state.
They did not abandon the forums. It’s just they rarely speak to us anymore.
It’s no surprise why. Everytime they speak, it’s generally not well received if they don’t have anything good for us.
I’m not saying “community bad” or dumb -Yoink!- like that. It’s just the relationship between player and dev isn’t very good at the moment.
There’s some people on twitter who exist solely to harass 343. It’s just a crap situation. Kinda like the Bungie situation with the harassment except to a lesser degree.
And 343 aren’t working fast enough to push things out in a timely manner so I mean in some areas it’s fair game.
Yeah, Bungie does the same thing. There are actual ‘Bungie Forums’, yet they only react on Reddit and Twitter. Please, just delete the Bungie- and Halowaypoint forums and tell us to on Reddit and get a Twitter account.
These forums are here for us to talk to each other.
They respond on reddit/twitter more because it has a wider reach and they can’t moderate the discussion.
Or they are its most frequent posters.
Its been like this the past 2 years, at least.
This isn’t anything new though. They did that years ago. They only really respond to people on Reddit and Twitter. And rarely at that.
343 is doing what Bungie does a lot, hiding hoping things will just blow over. That isn’t how life works and I don’t get why they think ignoring the glaring issues is going to solve anything. The problem is, they are the ones that cased a lot of the issues in this game and they don’t want to take responsibility for their own actions.
Lol it’s not that they abandoned, it’s the fact that they just don’t care.
They are all laughing at us right now while sitting on their sofas made of gold bars.
They turned their quick profit through FOMO and now they are mocking us plebs for caring about this game.
The reality on why they get met with so much hostility every time they say anything is as follows:
- they are correcting an issue that nobody cares about in the first place
- their previous “fixes” did more harm than good
- they still have not fixed the massive issues that are present in this title
- they diss appear on vacation for weeks on end without any resolution toward solving problems with the game.
- they completely ignored all the input from the test flights and beta
- they prioritized monetization over a finished and polished product
- they completely fell through on their promises
- they continue to implement more challenges while the community has voiced the issues with said challenges
- they continue to fail to provide new content in a timely manner to keep the game relevant
- still no forge, co-op, or custom game browser
- they blamed the community for the games poor performance on Reddit.
- FOMO
- Free to play
They will not be taken seriously at all after what they have done (which is more like what they haven’t done)
Their credibility as a developer is gone
343 has never actually been involved in the forums other than having the moderator staff and whatever posts are made that get pinned for announcements.
They literally do not have the manpower, nor the desire, to pay attention to what happens in the forums.
They do not look here for feedback or problem solving.
Because Forums need to be moderated to prevent it from being a breeding ground for illegal activities.
Plenty of stuff happens online when no supervision is upheld.
Nah. There are better boards for that, lol.
Its not a good look if the official forums are worse than r/halo
Its a matter of taste.
So halowaypoint is a containment board basically.
Then the players will abandon 343. You reap what you sow. Its already happening.
Been that way since 2012.
Take a look at how Halo 4’s player statistics DROPPED.
420,000 players online at their peak.
Two months later and it never saw a number past 100,000 again.

To bad microsoft wont abandon 343. I have never seen such consistent failure without consequence go on for so long. 0 on
That is because of the microtransactions.
Halo 5 made the bare-minimum of changes to make the multiplayer sandbox enjoyable and added in REQ Packs so there was no chance of having to scrap DLC packs like they did with Halo 4.
Halo Wars 2 needlessly included MTX despite the game being perfect (thanks to Creative Assembly’s expertise)
Halo Infinite over prices cosmetics and plenty of mooks sink $1000 or more in it every season.
Were it not for MTX, 343 would’ve closed after Halo 5 Gorbians cancelled 1/2 of its post-launch content updates.
Halo Infinite is a spinoff from Halo, at least multiplayer, with boring game modes and lack of content. It was fun the first few months until they removed geofilter and no new maps or game modes were created. Its a really repetetive game with stupid spawns and boring maps.
I feel better now when I stopped playing the game, Halo Infinite feels like my divorce from Halo and maybe even Xbox as gaming platform.
Again, not saying this is a “community bad” sort of thing.
They probably just look over the forums from time to time, but almost never speak. They have posted very few times.
Yeah this is most likely the case but can’t really confirm for myself.
Maybe a marked as seen by dev flag is appropriate? Just like add some kinda code fir that? But even then we might end up at the same problem.
