Yes, this is an ever present problem for Halo and shooters in general (cough Titanfall), but there is a very clear action that can be taken if population ever takes a real nosedive. All they have to do is release the game as free with gold, or just free to play forever. This would infuse life into the population, bring in money from REQs, and introduce the series to a wider audience. If this is treated as a big marketing push (like at E3 for example) this most certainly would be an effective move.
Or just do double REQ point weekends… That’d cause a spike in population whilst keeping the regs happy. Maybe people wouldn’t -Yoink- about their bad luck then.

I agree with this person, or double XP weekends on all gamemodes

exp doesn’t do much. I fully agree with like a 1.5x req points weekend or so.
Or they can drip feed us content. So prevalent in “next gen gaming”…

Only as long as the game keeps people interested but the game lacks content and I’m sure eventually people won’t play it as much, I’m sure there’s plenty of games that are mostly ignored a few months after they were on games for gold. H5 has never been in the top played games, even when popular games like Gears Of War was on games for gold it didn’t do much for the population. I suspect in a year the population will drop further. The online only part will hurt it further too since the constant server issues makes custom games impossible to play too so the casual gamers will be put off too.
Crackdown 3 multiplayer is coming soon, and so is Gears 4, so I guess Microsoft Studios is already expecting Halo’s population to decline and won’t do anything about it, as long as those two games are successful.

I suspect you maybe right on that since Gears doesn’t change too much from it’s core game-play which is why so many people love Gears, just shame 343i doesn’t follow the same route since a Halo game similar to Halo 2/3 with Halo 5’s graphic’s could have been pretty good.

They do need to do something like this. Battlefield and COD do similar things.
- Have Double XP/REQ Points events. - Add Daily/Weekly challenges.
