Also don’t forget to mention the mcc’s challenges which are very linear and you can play in any way you want and simultaneously complete the challenges as you play rather than being forced to play a certain way.
exactly! with mcc, you can just complete them naturaly, by… low and behold… playing the game, le gasp!
with infinite… it feels like i have to activally go out of my way to complete them, like a chore
I really don’t know what happened I think it’s mostly down to poor management and just a lot of issues going on during development but they have a lot of things that they could have easily just copy and paste it from the mccly in its current form and I really wish that they would have done that especially for the multiplayer for the campaign I’m not really sure as I haven’t even touched it yet but I really hope that they start doing things like in the MCC
Oh I know it feels the same way for me and let’s not forget that even if you do the things the challenges ask you to do you’re not necessarily going to be able to complete said challenges because some of them don’t even track properly I had three of my challenges not count at all and they were really simple and easy ones to do it was kill a Spartan with a needler kill a Spartan with the disruptor and play a match of Total control and I did every single one of those and not a single one counted as being completed and my fourth challenge was to get kills with the machine gun turret that Jorge uses in Halo reach
I’ve noticed that too.
I have that “Heat of the Moment” challenge where you have to use a Heatwave to kill 1 enemy, and even though I’ve done that about 2-3 times, it still isn’t saying it’s done.
Also, some of the challenges feel like those really difficult to get achievements in Halo 3.
I remember it taking forever to get the “Two for One” achievement that required getting a double kill with a single spartan laser shot in free-for-all.
I actually like these challenges better because mcc has mostly the same ones every week so they got pretty old like a year or two ago. Some of those made you play things you didnt want to play like the complete 7 h2a/h4 games or get 10 objective medals. The 5 killing spree one is kind of hard to get. Also half of them are for campaign/ firefight. I went for them for a long time but I can only replay campaign and firefight so much and I reached that point long ago
Edit: Also in mcc leveling up and the blue challenges that just give you exp becomes pointless because you stop getting unlocks for leveling pretty early on
Okay even if you don’t like those challenges you don’t have to complete them they’re just there to help you rank up but see in Halo infinite you don’t really have any way of ranking up at all even with this new temporary system they’ve added in where you get 300 XP for your first game and 200 XP for the two after that and then 100 XP after that for a few and then back to 50 XP that doesn’t help and it makes the progression system which is barely there slow af with the MCC collection which I’ve only been playing for a couple of months I reached tour five level 25 rapidly just from completing PVE challenges and playing the game
That I definitely agree with you on I think it’s a bit unfair that once you hit a certain point you just stop gaining unlock points I think that’s really unfair and I personally think the higher level you are the more unlock points you should get
343 didn’t have to do much of the work that was already put into the games that came with the MCC. it’s easy to focus on a side for dinner when the main is complete.
It’s is amazingly annoying how little Halo Infinite has to offer. If you give a lot at the beginning people will still be playing it for years to come. I played halo 3 from release until a couple of months ago like if it’s good we’re gonna keep playing
I do agree with you on how if they would have given us something good we definitely would be playing in the long run but with the MCC yes they did have a lot of good things that were not really theirs they just took over ownership of the property but with the MCC they did fix it up a lot to make it what it is now and the thing that baffles me is that they didn’t use the MCC as a way they should make Halo infinite they had a good representation of what they could have done with the multiplayer and they completely went in a different direction and made something completely different it’s heavily monetized very bare Bones and doesn’t have a progression system whatsoever besides obviously the battle pass which you have to buy and the free items you do get in the battle pass are very minimal
And I do understand that during Halo infinite’s production they had a lot of setbacks a lot of management issues as well as employee issues with them using mostly contract workers which are only allowed to work 18 months on something which is more of a Microsoft problem than anything else but with the multiplayer they really could have just copy and pasted from the MCC and people would have been happy with that more so than what we have now
Going back to MCC halo 3 for a while. I kinda got bored with Infinite. MC Wiky on Xbox for anyone who wants to join
I think that’s exactly why so many people are still playing MCC even though Infinite is free.
There are so many missing features and quality of life options in the game that Infinite really just feels like a downgrade with fancy graphics and some new guns.
Its out of beta, its in full release , and after 6 years with a delay it still has a fraction of what MCC has to offer and feels like a game designed around a shop and pumping sales figures up.
Infinite should never have been released in the state it is in. People wanted a great halo game when it was ready, not a okay game with a ton of microtransactions.
When they announced there wasn’t going to be playable Elites at launch that’s when I first had a gut feeling that Infinite wouldn’t live up to the standard MCC set.
The problem is 343 went Free to Play, that automatically means minimal quality control.
I would chalk it up to building the game from the ground up.
Seems to be the issue that has plagued a lot of titles which took similar routes.
At least the game plays well and players are receiving it well.
Yea but 60% of your unlocks are Challenge Swaps.
GG.
Also, inability to pick your own colours.
Also, inability to use your full customization because CORES WOW SO COOL.
Money, that happened. The high ranks at 343 wants the “profit bonus” for Infinite.
They took the emblem customization, the colors (they said it was gonna be to give use “unique options” but at the end is just red 4 times), strip the Battlepass so they can abuse us more, we discover this and they are again in dead silence about it…
I said it a thousand times: i loved the game, but every time I play it I feel scammed and worse: I feel like I am supporting the scam.
No more money from me to the store to them from me: I already bought the Battlepass and feel dirty about it. Nobody should buy anything in the store until they fix this. Lets talk the only way they will undertand: with out wallets
To back up your statement. For comparison, each tier basically has 10 or so items in mcc. So your getting more by tier 6 in mcc than you are by tier 30 in infinite.
What happened was that halo fans would not tolerate having the past games they loved be made worse for monetary purposes.
Yeah there is outrage for this game but if they tried any of this in MCC, you better believe the outrage would be 100x worse
Surely people realise by now that the game is missing so much that the team wanted included, likely all these things are on that list. 343 said that 2/3rds of the game was cut due to time constraints. In an ideal world the game would have been delayed another year and all the bells and whistles included at launch, but Microsoft wasn’t going to have it.
yeah it seems that as soon as you go from full paid to Free to play money goes to making content to sell instead of content in the game, or even a good game for that matter. why do almost all free to play games suck??
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile, Call of Duty Mobile, Among Us, etc. are all fun, in my opinion, but they all have limited customization.
Supposedly, some of the free-to-play MMOs (Star Wars: The Old Republic, Dungeons & Dragons Online, etc.) might be good too, but I haven’t tried them yet.
