343 had an opportunity and ruined it (spoilers)

I have no idea why you decided to go down the story route you did. It would have been better to keep cortana dead and followed with the human side of chief that you portrayed in 4. Instead we get a thrown together, bare bones story will no development whatsoever.

Literally nothing is explained. You need to read so far into the explanded lore to have any idea who blue team is. The guardians have no explaination. Chief has no emotion at all and apparently he is a clairvoyant now. Every single plot point in the story is just revealed then skimmed over and never elaborated on.

Why couldnt it have been about chiefs struggle with losing cortana and dealing with his grief. Thats what the trailers suggested to me. Chief goes awol because he doesnt have cortana any more and it was going to be a deep and emotional journey but no, heres cortana and guess what? Shes the villain now. Its cliche and lazy as -Yoink-.

With that being said, at least the multiplayer is solid and i havent wasted my money on the purchase but i will not be buying halo 6 on release solely because the story direction is now ridiculous.

I agree that there’s a lot of back-story at work here, and the casual player might not really get what’s going on. But let’s don’t pretend that this has never been an issue in any previous Halo. The campaign stories have always been a little convoluted and difficult to follow. It’s nothing new. If you want to get caught up without reading fifty novels and playing Spartan Ops, just google it.

The thing is, i have read every single book and its still a skeleton of a story. Nothing is built upon and none of the characters have any personality. I just expected a lot more. I enjoyed 4. I liked that you knew big strong master chief was terrified to lose cortana. It gave him a human element that was just thrown out here.
